    G3 Empire 127

Has anyone skied these? Feedback? I've looked all over and there seems to be limited information.

Same here. Would love some info. Looks like they took the sidecut from the ski everyone is on these days (143-117-128 ~ Bibby, GPO, RPC, Automatic, Billy Goat, Soul 7, ect) and added 10mm of width to the whole thing. Course unlike these "one ski quiver" skis the empire is pretty much full on reverse camber (a bit of a flat spot underfoot) and heavy and damp as it gets, with 2 full sheets of titanal. Just picked up some blems. Will post after I ski them but would love ideas for mount point.

Yep there is a dearth of information on these. Anyone have any experience on the 127?

I have a pair sitting in the garage undrilled due to lack of snow this winter...

Seems like the Empire 127 would probably be somewhat similar to the On3p Cease & Desist, but that's just going by the dimensions.

^ Yeah but with 9mm more width in the tip so tighter radius for sure.

My hope is that it's a good inbounds pow ski because it's still fun to carve on the way back to the chair unlike soft or reverse sidecut skis which are great in pow but suck so much when the conditions are tracked, bumpy or (gasp!) firm that you really don't want them on your feet unless it's deep pow.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I skied about a dozen days on demo pre-carbon Empire 115s. Very stable, smooth, and predictable in all conditions. Got in a few days cat-skiing, and they were great for medium-long turns, and smearing. Obviously heavy/sluggish compared to my Wailer 112's, but great crud blasters, and no problem on the groomers.

Skied 183cm 127's (mounted on the line) last weekend in about 12-18" of fresh & cut-up, loved 'em. Stiffest & heaviest ski I've had, and they do a great job railing through pre-moguls. They float like a champ, the substantial rocker makes 'em easy to turn, and they even hold a carve on soft groomers as long as you keep slight pressure on the tails (loading the tips will lift the tails and skid but it's nothing dramatic). Clean sheets of wind-stripped hardpack were no big deal, & plenty of edge on the snow for traverses. Even with all of the rocker, you don't even have to pay attention running straight on flat bases back to the lift, they track just fine. (Haven't been in a frozen crust yet, no doubt reverse-sidecut L138's are better in those conditions.)

Damp, stable & fast. Not a lot of personality, just solid. G3 nailed it with this one, temped to start saving for the 2015 carbon version for touring next year.

    G3 Empire 127

Great fun was had on these today
Playful and stable. Very quick to rip glades and smooth on run outs
Feel pretty light. 183 is good and quick in the trees and mount point allows you to really be nimble. Not bad on soft groomers just stay a little forward. I'm sold and they deserve all the awards they got. $320 at BC.com with active junky. 183 is right for me

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Coming up on sac in about 15-30 minutes at $260. A steal at that price

Finally got my hands on these, STP messed up and sent me the wrong skis, didn't realize until about 5 weeks later when I finally opened them, and by that time the 13/14 was out of stock.

In a display of class they gave me the same discount on the 14/15 (same ski but you know) so it only cost me $15 more.

    HOOOOOOOOOLY SHIT these are stiff.

The 193 is shorter then a 191 BG, but so much stiffer. These will destroy crud.

Will review these against praxis powder boards and the BG's.

If I like them I will probably try and find a carbon version at a cheapish price.

I put in a few days on the 183 last season and loved 'em, super smooth through chop, just point 'em downhill. Picked up the 193's this summer for the hell of it. They are beasts for sure, the 193 is a little stiffer and has slightly less tail rocker than the 183.

What's the weight of the 193's?

^ 2,560g. Lighter than you'd expect for such a big burly metal ski.

I'd be interested in the carbon version for touring, but don't do black skis. Damn shame about the color.

1000-oaks beat me to it, but the unmounted pair of 193 Empire 127s in the garage weigh 11.6# on my bathroom digital scale. (Was just out there weighing another package anyway...)

They hand flex very very stiff.

The 192 Lotus 138 Flex 2 actually feels like a little touring ski compared to the big-boy Empire 127.
