Week on the upper Delaware got off to a good start this evening, netted a healthy 18" brown.
Caddis were coming off in clouds with Hendricksons mixed in. Winds are going to be the suck tomorrow though.

Fishing from shore on Lake Michigan is picking up right now, caught that brown (and 6 other fish that afternoon) behind the amphitheatre. That location never seems to be too crowded and you can park your car 30 feet from where you're fishing. Makes for an easy "car bar".
Give me a shout when you're in the area, I'll be around next month.

thanks just a fishy skibum w/ a point n chute and his 4 legged fish sniffin companion givin and takin a bit nutin real special
went back to work tues as a reminder of the bad day fishin still beats that alternative
weds had us in the echo hood
4 our 3rd annual PHW summer picnic outing w/ the vets
the fine folks from the Heiner ranch once again gave us access to a sweet spread
i'd gotton there early hopin to finally get one off the sup

launched the tupparewhare moship and started
Jed was a cav scout so being an fellow 11M and havin spent a bit of time at the controls of a bradley we shared some amusing antidotes
he havin served a decade and two deployments from aganistan to Iraq did a hell of a lot more soliderin and freedom insuring than my couple years drivin round peacetime duetchland guarding a wall of idealism.
super stoked to be able to share the we bit of skill in the pursuit of fishes using fly flingin gear w/ those who gave their skills requardless of the mission
and results
Jed the fishsniffin therapy god and I
there were lessons of patience
and excitement at the fruitation of doing things right leading to rodbending connections
tactical fishing vehicles deployed
and the logistics of grub for the troops adressed
and more fish exercised
I tell you what when you spend an awesome day givin a bit w/ a bunch of great guys and at the end
he offers you one of his grandfathers flies out of a classic oldschool leather fly wallet
you take smile and remember the givin gives meaning to the takin"When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

close to home in an urban fisheries here in the prozac capitial
be free young fishies
the sandy fisheries was tough
kids were younger
catchin harder
and plenty of time in the penalty box
after watching/ scolding a young lad for dragging the flyreel along the concrete sidewalk
old uncle dibs needed a attitide adjustin time out
as fate would have it the unworthy kid had his chance, but failed to pay attention and the slack kills lesson was relearnt
the dnr boys showin up w/ a truckload of arkansas catfish saved the day or at least provided sum entertainment
a friend whose been experimenting w/ new addictions showed up for sum castin lessons
which led to

Love all of the fishing stoke in here. I'm not much of a photog, but I did a 6 dayer to the eastside last week so I'd thought I'd contribute. It was my fist time down to the Owens.
Private section of Hot Creek.
We tried to fish the public section, but it was so windy that your line would get lifted right out of the water.
Hot section of Hot
Upper Owens. The lahontan cutthroat were coming up from Lake Crowley and were thick in here.
Little cutty
Fallen soldier
Meandering UO. Shit there's a lot of water to fish here.
And the Lower O is no different. Just so much to fish, so little time
