WTF? How come nobody ever told me about fireflies? Thought I was tripping...
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

You never heard of fireflies? huh.
edit: just looked 'em up. They exist all over the world but in the US they pretty much don't exist west of Kansas. I did not know that.

Never seen 'em. Wasn't expecting a bunch of tiny little LED's flitting about. Just went for a walk and there are tons of toads out fornicating in the woods.

lol thats great I just found out this past weekend that not everybody has seen fireflies. This kid was losing it when they started to come out, and we had all accepted chocolate form some dirty hippy, from the south (that part was kind of a mistake but super fun). I also was told that the males are the ones flying around putting on a show for the females and the females are hanging out on the ground in the grass. Not sure if thats true.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

well, im making another trip out east over thanksgiving. girlfriend and i are staying in yarmouth for a few days over the holiday itself. im trying to nail down a reservation for thanksgiving dinner, any restaurant suggestions in the cape area, in boston, or somewhere in-between? prefer to keep the meal capped around $50/plate before booze.
we tend to just wander and consume on vacation so directions towards anything else worth seeing/eating/doing in that area are welcome as well.Last edited by shroom; 11-03-2014 at 12:33 PM.

Have you been to Durgin Park? Classic place, 100 years old (and the original -cranky as hell but fun- waitresses still work there I think), family style, great neighborhood. Never been for thanksgiving but I bet it would be good, and way within your price range. Very very old-time Boston.

Captain Parker's pub in Dennis/Yarmouth line on rt 28 has good chowder while you're in the area.
Lots of shit closed in winter on cape but amari in Sandwich is decent (rt 6A). Barnstable Tavern would also be good and within budget (rt 6A).
Quarterdeck on rt 28 near Hyannis airport is good for a stiff drink and a good vibe.
Driving up toward Boston there's more open, like near Plymouth harbor (Isaac's, east bay grill). Going all the way to Boston....I'm in the mood for Italian in east boston and would hit Rino's.
No surprise ice is into the crusty ass service/show at durgin park!Decisions Decisions
