Congrats to Gnarwhale!
From TGR's most epic TR ... too slammed to search and link ... to Powder cover shots and compelling features to ... this year the Southern Patagonia Ice Cap where he "will cross the 350-mile length of the Southern Patagonia Ice Cap by ski, traction kite and packraft while documenting the remote landscape's deteriorating glaciers."
Congrats Jim! One of four adventurers awarded the 2014 Polartec Challenge Grant.
If anyone ever ponders the power to get 'er done, look at the Gnarwhale''s career arc in the last four years.

Does the gnarwhale drive a subby wagon and live in/around seattle? If not, someone stole his vanity plate.

Thanks dudes! Yeah, I second the crazy "career arc" sentiment. Other's generosity and a dose of amazing luck probably has had the biggest impact on my successes. So thanks.
1996 Suby wagon: check
But no vanity plates. And they're UT tags. At least there's a little skier making wiggle turns on them.
I did get some stickers made a couple weeks ago. But I didnt order that many so I ran out. Second batch is on the way. PM me your address if you want one and I'll put a couple in the mail.

damn right...Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

Here is my post regarding this TR:
"Thanks for bumping this... I remember reading this when first posted and realized just truly how boring and uneventful my life is... Not in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine doing something like this... Hence the reason for my addiction to TGR...! By far the absolute best TR I have read...! I cant even keep track of all of the friends I sent this to..."
When things are going shitty and I find myself in a bad place I find myself pulling this TR from my favorites and it never disappoints... Truly an incredible journey and congrats on your dedication and hardwork being rewarded...

BUMP.
Was really looking forward to the TR on the expedition. I hope this doesn't stop companies like Polartec from funding these kind of adventures.
Heal quick mang. I hope you can make it back stateside without enduring too much pain.
