why not a telemark only place...
We had a place like Telemarktips on the internet, but the ski manufactures kept telling us we needed bigger boots, stiffer bindings, and wider skis. There was a metamorphosis from true telemark to what today is difficult to distinguish between alpine skiing and the telly turn. They even renamed true telemark; XCD, that is when telemark died. We need a place for history to live and knees to drop. BRING BACK TELEMARK.

The minute someone made a plastic shelled tele boot, the sport began its death spiral. The spiral accelerated as soon as someone in an english speaking country called it "randonee."
I would pay for tele lessons and buy new gear, if it was still done in leather boots, and if my AT boots weren't so dam comfortable.

As predicted 20+ years ago, telemark gear evolution would progress itself out of existence and eventually become alpine touring gear. And it did!
Look at the current AT gear. It's better in every way than tele stuff.
The only remaining valid excuse is that some folks still prefer the feel of the tele turn technique.Leave No Turn Unstoned!

Just the other day I saw a guy in his 50s or 60s on little 170ish straight skis and leather boots. His stance made it obvious he ripped. I gave him a big nod. Dude was not fucking around and clearly, clearly the best skier on the mountain.
Then I flew by him on the down and realized... yeah, modern skis...
