Interesting point... When I first heard about this, I was both inspired and similarly irritated: a) yes, finally -- thank God! and b) why does this need to be at all? That is, the world of pro-skiers where I live is totally male. I'm used to hanging with the guys, but I have to admit that it's different skiing with girls -- or doing anything, actually, and I think that this movie is going to ROCK! It's time. Skiers are skiers -- guys, gals, whatever. Yet, there is a niche for this and the fact that she has almost reached twice her fundraising goal is a clear sign that she is onto something.
I'm curious, is the title a reference to Ani DiFranco's "Pretty Girl?" There's a righteous babe for the history books! Why not call it a "Nice Face -- or Good Lookin." I've never waved my hand across a mountain line and called the face "pretty!" I hope it's a reference to righteous babe. And I hope the film lives up to it.
Scratch hope -- I know it will. Call it "lady's intuition." Actually -- that would be a great title

Thanks for the questions! I'll add a way to the site that you can pre-order a DVD or downloadable copy in the net few days.
We just secured our world premier location and have a date set for wrapping up the film. Its been quiet the adventure.

The trailer looks great. Still not really convinced regarding the name but looking forward to the movie. Now let's work on this:
I hope the movie also includes the long view from ladies who are still getting after it after many decades and not just the 'young and pretty'.
Fun anecdote: A few days ago I was at Refugio Frey, a backcountry hut in Argentina that used to be a bit of a secret spot and now is the go to "adventure" for anyone who comes down here to tour. Black Diamond was there with a bunch of people to shoot film and fotos for some sort of catalogue. They had hired some local skiers to model the clothes and gear and were separately shooting men's and women's stuff. They started with the women and had the three models skin around in circles for the camera. After a bit of this one of the dudes in charge comes in and tells some other dude in charge: "hey man, can you put your boots on and join the shoot? we need a guy in the shot, there's always a man around girls in the mountains and we don't want to do the Girl's Trip thing."
This would be idiotic in any case and was especially amusing because one of their models skied Lautaro, the highest peak on the southern Patagonian ice cap, with a few other women last year. Anyone who has tried to ski in that region knows what kind of achievement that is. They went back after a previous, unsuccessful expedition, also with an all female team. (Google women into the wind if interested.) I bet they'd have made it the first time if they had only had some guy with them, silly chicks and their Girls Trips!
Also, some stupid comments at a comp last season made me rethink my stance on all-female anything in skiing. I wrote an angry blog post and got a surprising amount of agreement from female competitors at all levels, so I guess there is more than one dumb guy out there.

In conclusion: Fuck the patriarchy. Maybe literally, if they have a pretty face.Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.

I hadn't noticed the tour schedule until you mentioned it, Dave. It's playing here in New Mexico in both Santa Fe and Taos - very cool.

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun

I was certain that there wouldn't be a tour date close to me (in Western Massachusetts) given the paucity of East Coast dates, but it turns out that there is one that I could ride my bike to. Pretty awesome.

Raising a glass to the huge posse of super talented, motivated and fun skiers at the premier tonight in Boulder. Can't imagine the challenge of celebrating this awesome film while dealing with the losses in the/their ski world today, especially Liz.
Here's to all you rad women- :cheers:Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
