I'm not joking. Friggin road giant if there ever was one. Although he's slimmed down some since enforcement stepped up.

Of course he was insinuating that it was Ortiz... whether that means Ortiz actually did anything wrong is something else. "Because A-Rod's lawyer said so" isn't carrying a lot of weight these days... Personally, I'm surprised that anyone would decide to throw a dude like Ortiz under the bus chasing a lost cause like this one. Of all the people I'd like to have looking to straighten me out, Ortiz is pretty fucking far down the list. Somewhere between Chuck Norris and a rhinoceros.

Dude could crush the ball.
One of the more entertaining nights at Yankee Stadium was sitting close and listening to him get abused by the fans after the Post ran pictures of him exiting Madonna's loft at 4am. Watched him come at a dorky fan with a bat in his hand. Dork was thrown out, Jose went back to her loft that night.
I really hope this Tanaka isn't another Japanese pitching disaster.

Thank God. I was dreading the Dodgers signing him.

Red Sox make an amazing move by signing....
wait for it...
Grady Sizemore?
LOL, WUT? HAsn't that dude had like a bazillion surgeries and not play in the last 4 or so years? Luckily he is only making $750k unless he performs well.Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

Yikes:
"Sizemore, 31, has not played since 2011 due to continued injury problems. He has had seven surgeries since 2009: left elbow (2009), sports hernia (2009), left knee (2010), another sports hernia (2011), right knee (2011), lower back (2012) and another on the right knee (2012)."
But you know what they say, the best bargain in baseball is a formerly productive player coming back from injury and playing for a new contract.
Not sure of that saying applies to 7 surgeries in 4 years, I guess we'll see.
In other news, the Yankees, in keeping with their new policy to only sign players that George knew personally, have announced that they have signed…

Wow, this is a major snub to the Atlanta fans:
No Logos for Maddux and La Russa
"Greg Maddux and Tony La Russa will not have logos on their Hall of Fame plaques. Joe Torre’s plaque will have the logo of the Yankees, plaques for Tom Glavine and Bobby Cox will have Atlanta Braves logos, and Frank Thomas’s will have the logo of the Chicago White Sox.
Maddux began his career with the Chicago Cubs, played for the Braves from 1993 to 2003 and then played again for the Cubs. He also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. La Russa managed the White Sox, the Oakland A’s and the St. Louis Cardinals."
I'll always think of Maddux as a Brave.

Re: Sizemore.... If that dude could suddenly be healthy and durable, you guys would have the bargain of the century right there...
Lol@ Tiant... You mean re-signed...
Saw an article yesterday that our FO is looking at Steven Drew again... I'd be down with that...

Well he technically could make up to $6M if he reaches all his performances bonuses. I don't know what those entail, but I assume they aren't extremely lofty. So yeah, if he performs awesome and stays healthy, I think $6M is still a bargain.
Drew had a bad stigma here just because of his name. Sure, he had slumps, but overall he was a real decent player. If we didn't have young talent coming in, I would certainly not mind keeping him. However, I also don't know what kind of contract Boras is trying to get him. That could be a dealbreaker.Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

Wow, considering his street fashion style, I'm impressed he went with plain black tux. Looks svelt! As a photoshop expert, I reserve judgement until pitchers/catchers.

Yeah, I could see Boras talking his way out of a deal. Greedy fuck. Drew's maybe worth 10/year... I heard at one point he was looking for 14 and 4 years... Nfw...
Lol@ CC... Dude looks like he's going to start doing subway commercials. Will be interesting to see if he can pitch like that... Or like anything I guess. The velocity doesn't mean that much to me, but he was up and over the plate last year in a way I'd never seen before, especially deep in counts... He's had great stuff in the past. Could be our #1 again.
