I saw that. Looks pretty much like all the other tech offerings out there after a quick glance.. I wonder what is different.

We're going to see the worst tech shake-out since 2001.

Hooray they got rid of that stupid toe lever, hopefully it operates the right way this time! Trying to figure out what the 2 bits on the toe sticking up are?

Guessing it's to make step in easier. Also guessing it will break.

"Winter" product always starts either 7/1 or 8/1, depending on the brand. No shops are going to bother ordering them that early, though.

More coming in the following few days from g3.

I have seen some of the proto functionality and it is pretty slick. Meshes some of the best features from all the current tech offerings.

Yes, current tech offerings.. So they spend a bunch of money to come up with an easy step in and forward presure.....and thats it... Oh and an glossy orange collor..wow I am really impressed they stopped there.. In no way this will be a competition for the Beast or Fritschi and that is sad.. This should get a really good price tag to be interesting..

just pretty colors no info any other links telling us something techy like what does it weigh yada yada ... what did G3 do to make it > the onyx

I think G3 needed to make a better onyx > they needed to make another beast

I personally know more than a few meadowskippers getting turned off by the direction Dynafit is going with the Radical and the Beast, so if the Ion fills the vacuum of the more traditional Dynafit user, it could fill a pretty good need. Problem is a lot of those folks ski things until they wear out and don't trade up for something new just because it's new.

TGR is so awesome... in the Fritschi thread people gave various reasons for how shit the new Fritschi is going to be. Now the new G3 tech binding is apparently shit because its not as good as the Fritschi??!? Tech Talk is the MTBR of skiing.

This new shiny coppertone-anodize-accented G3 Ion looks heavier/clunkier than the Radical Speed, no?

Hopefully for G3, this binding is better engineered than that POS Onyx.

I like all the innovation. Getting closer to that one binding that can do it all.

A few photos and everyone says its a POS. I'll wait until there is a video of it exploding during a demo before I cast judgement. This from someone who thinks the beast is far from what they say it is.

If someone wants to throw cash at me I'll design a better one. Until then y'all can keep your new shinies to yourselves. P18s and (current) radicals for me.

Edit to add: An Orange Radical!!! If this is cheaper than ST's it could match my skis better.
