That sure looks nice, we are skiing some serious shit snow on the Peaks right now but we are used to that. Skiing in Flagstaff teaches you to make lemonade out of lemons and we did just that yesterday. We did a little tour out of and around the area then back in bounds for two quick laps on the chair. I took a couple of pics but I didn't have a memory card in my camera. Doh.
Anyways, the forecast for this week looks promising.

I'm brushing up on my Texan.
So I've got three free days at DMR because of my pass. Is it a little area that rocks, or is it just pure shlock?

If I say I'm 'old school' that just means I'm too dumb and lazy to buy a camera and figure out how to use it well.
But I've got words and this weekend was awesome!
We went out Sunday towards Williams Lake. 38mph winds with gusts up to 60. Putting on my boots at the trail head the wind kept pushing the door into my head. The snow was mostly windblown, slabs were setting up. Since I was with a couple of legs with lungs, I told them to go ahead and I was going to poke around on my own. Later that day the clouds cleared and that's when I knew I was inthe Southwest. We don't get winter weather (as the Scotts say -- Full conditions!) like that very often in the SW, so when we do, get out there!
Yes, this is a lame ass TR, but whatchoo going to do?

Figured here would be the place to ask.
Luck enough to be going to be in Telluride/ Ouray for 2 weeks around the Ice Fest for skiing and climbing, and staying with a local friend in the Telluride valley. Anyone have a line on deals for lift tickets at Telluride?

Conditions are real funky in the Flag back country right now. Here is a short edit from yesterday, forgive us for the silly 80's hop turns, like I said it's super funky wind effected snow but we still enjoyed a couple steep shots anyways. This is often how our bc skis, we actually enjoy the funk, it keeps you on your toes!
Two from earlier in the week.
In bounds last Friday.

I just heard this King Diamond song and I couldn't help myself from redoing that edit.
I decided to delete this vid, it just didn't have enough good ski footage and I kind of forced it. Sorry.Last edited by RaisingArizona; 12-26-2013 at 03:12 PM.

Nice. Me and a guy you probably know had some great turns at Silverton, then Sam's. Opening day at Silverton gave us very many nice shots, and Sunday was bluebird with the snow holding up nicely.
Now all we need is another massive dump.

How was Sam's? We skinned up Sam's heading for the N face of Chattanooga on the 20th and it seemed pretty crusty and variable down low. Probably 2 to 3" fell during the uphill. That on the ~4" from the night before skied incredible. The North face of Chattanooga was a bit sloughy with the storm snow running on a firm bed surface from the slide about a month ago but otherwise skied great, especially up high and the apron towards the bottom.
The police never find it as funny as you do.
