it was going off last week too. Lots of rocks and sharks in open terrain. Have fun, good luck.

Coverage has really improved. It was good fun the last couple days. They definitely did not get 7" overnight. With a 60" base you still have to throttle back, especially on the Alberta side. Sorry, no pics.

boring pic but you get the idea. no sharks, only barely nudged one stump. DEEP fucking snow all day, almost every gaper there decided to only lap the run directly under alberta lol

Yesterday was fucking ridiculously awesome.
Yeah, definitely some barely covered stumps out there. I had a really hard direct hit to my heel at full speed and cracked my ankle bone. Out for a month. Hit it just right, really shitty luck. From what I know of Wolf Creek though, even with another 20-30" of base, there are still stumps that will be barely covered. Just the way it goes out there.Last edited by Lindahl; 11-23-2013 at 09:32 PM.

I didn't mean disrespect smmokan. was just joking.
yeah, for November it was pretty amazing conditions today. the flats at that place are ridiculous but there was still some excellent skiing.
definitely some chocolate chips hidden in the mix but coverage was better than i had expected.
overall, a really great day to kick-off 13/14

Skied there bell to bell yesterday and today......terrain aside, it's awesome to be skiing pre Thanksturkey day pow. I'd be back tomorrow if it wasn't gaper day.
The police never find it as funny as you do.

Coverage was solid for pre Thanksgiving. Had a riot lapping Gate 5/6 in the Waterfall w/ BambooCore. One rock got me. I'll take it.
Good snow. Very playful and creamy. First time down to Wolf, and although the terrain isn't my favorite, it's still a place I'd like to visit again and again.
Here's some stoke:

That sucks. Unlike most places in Colorado, Wolf's avalanche mitigation strategy includes not taking out saplings and not touching fallen trees- leaving everything that can anchor the snowpack to stay there. It takes more to cover it when the ski area does very little of the debris clearing that typical resorts do, but as of today the mountain has 5 full feet of a base, and almost all of that stuff is covered.
From what I saw, Knife Ridge Chutes, Blueberry Hill, and Solar Slide are too sketchy for my tastes. Everywhere else I have found awesome and snow more than deep enough, although some more snow packing could help (all those little streambeds that create the trough with the lip 3-4 feet high on the downhill side ready to create a forward double eject suck).
Conditions are Wolf are awesome. The base is in place, and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet.

Our group triggered that yesterday and submitted the observation on caic. Didn't run very far but it propagated like a motherfucker. At least a 500 ft crown. Wake up call for sure. My partner who triggered it was the 6th skier to hit it. I was at treeline above it when it ripped and damn near fell over from the snowpack collapse.
