    November 19, 2013

SKI ALPIN - US Ski Team, Training, HerrenLindsey Vonn was reportedly hurt in a crash while training downhill at Copper Mountain Tuesday morning.

The four-time overall champ, who has spent the summer rehabbing a knee injury, was said to have been taken off the hill in a sled. She will undergo an MRI immediately on the injured knee.

A U.S. Ski Team representative has confirmed that Vonn crashed and said the team will be getting her checked out.

Vonn is expected to make a return to World Cup competition at Beaver Creek next week.

We will update this story as information becomes available

All things aside, that would suck if she tore her ACL again. Having gone through an ACL already, the thought of tearing the same one twice in a year is crushing. Vibes to her, hopefully its nothing too serious.

Your thread title is a bit overkill, just sayin'

    This one?

I'm selfishly hoping Lindsey is able to ski in the Olympics. The media spotlight will likely be stuck on Lindsey for the most part, allowing Mikaela to concentrate on her first Olympics and win a medal (or two).
Without Vonn competing, the media vultures will be circling looking for their next meal (although I'm sure they will work Lindsey in there somehow).

IDK, Mikaela is the reigning W.C. slalom champion, and she has won the last 4 W.C. slalom races dating back to last year. I think that she is in the spotlight, already.
Regarding Lindsay, I was very happy that she pulled out of Soelden. I hope that she just takes care of herself, so she can walk when she is old. My feeling is that she is pushing too hard for the olympics. At her age, the injury is hard to over come.

Karma. I'm just glad she started early with the injuries for Sochi. I'd hate to have to hear about them for the next 4 months.

Well that sucks. Wish we could have seen her racing near top form.

Mikaela is unreal. So smooth and so fast. Sometimes she looks slow because she is so smooth. Skied on my old WC slalom skis a few days this year and I quickly remembered just how hard and demanding they are. Shes only competing in SL and combined this year right? 2016 she should have matured enough to be racing all or most events. Will be interesting to watch.

I know this is the tough guy TGR forum, but what the fuck? about 60 world cup victories, most over by a woman, 5-7(?) overall WC championships? you both are retarded douches.

I almost hate to say it, but this is what happens when you are older and you try to come back too soon from a serious injury. I wish her the best. She should take the season off from competitive racing, ski with Tiger and his kids at Deer Valley, and re-evaluate in June.

Nobody is disputing her record, obviously that speaks for itself. I think that she has become increasingly arrogant. She may be good enough to justify that kind of attitude, but I'd much rather see an athlete take their success with humility. My opinion obviously. I distinctly remember an interview with her last winter in which she was asked how much time she would need to recover from her initial injury to be ready for Sochi, and her response was 2 weeks. She's just made several such remarks that make me want to root for another era. I hope she's better and at full health so someone even more talented can beat her, not because of her injury.
