My money for the "horns" is that they are an indicator of where to put your foot when you step in. IE slide your foot forward until you hit resistance then step down. I also just got an Eddie Bauer magazine in the mail and there was a photo that had some strange type of self arrest ski pole in it. Way more aggressive of a pick angle than a Whippet.

The most powerful and intuitive lightweight freeride touring binding yet. All-new from the creative minds at G3. Game changing forward pressure, wide mount and refined toe jaw dynamics plus unique step-in and brake features yield superior freeride performance in the lightest set up you can ask for.
Pretty meh on it, unless there is something crazy going on that can't be seen.

An I the only one who thinks a beast toe piece combined with a radical heel will result in a ton of pre-releases?
Additional support for the metal toe P15 (6-15). That at $300, with a P12 or P13 at 200-230 would compete much better against the marker/Amer offerings. Combine the P15 with a Lord style feature and I'll just start writing checks now.

http://store.allspeed.com/black-diam...ski-2013-2014/
"BD takes their popular Convert ski and revamps it with carbon for 2014! The Carbon Convert holds true to what made the original Convert so popular: a fat, rockered ski that is now even lighter for the uphill treks still delivers a fun, powdery ride for on the way down. Full specs are still under wraps, but we guarantee this will be the must-have ski for the spring 2014 ski season!"
No weights listed, but given BD's recent track record, they probably wouldn't have been reliable anyway. Expected to hit shelves in mid-January.Last edited by werdswerf; 12-10-2013 at 11:48 PM.

Salomon will include S-LAB models in their Q-line. I know for sure there will be a S-LAB Q 105 (titanium Q 105)
I also heard dynafit is changing all their vulcan based models, but I can't confirm.

12-16-2013, 06:18 AM #142Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!
"He is god of snow; the one called Ullr. Son of Sif, step son of Thor. He is so fierce a bowman and ski-runner that none may contend! He is quite beautiful to look upon and has all the characteristics of a warrior. It is wise to invoke the name of Ullr in duels!"

Heard rumours of a Vulcan-esque Salomon boot. Light, stiff, good ROM. Hopefully, unlike the Vulcan, it has a nice progressive flex to it.

....and unlike the Quest, the inserts will stay in!
Skied my Solly x-max back to back w/ my Mercury's this weekend for the first time. Never did realize quite how unprogressive the flex difference between those 2 was till then. Have to give it to Solly for the flex, so nice.'waxman is correct, and so far with 40+ days of tasting them there is no way my tongue can tell the difference between wood, and plastic made to taste like wood...but i'm a weirdo and lick my gear...' -kidwoo
