I know Tecnica is working on a more serious touring boot... haven't been able to get any more information though. Pretty tight-lipped. They posted a shadow outline of it on instragram a few weeks ago. Sounds like they're re-working the powerstrap buckle idea, also - making it so you don't have to unvelcro it to get full range of motion - maybe something similar to K2, or removing velcro altogether - ala booster straps with a buckle?

We'll know soon enough. Salomon will be giving selected industry types a preview of the new tech boots in the weeks before January's SIA show. Plans include both dry land and on-snow presentations.

New Atomic/Salomon or Dalbello. Salomon/Atomic will have a new race type super ROM boot (but still no binder) and pretty sure Dalbello has a new tech boot coming.

The lowers with the hinge at the back immediately remind me of these.
The upper cuff opens, then pivots back and out of the way on a hinge. There is a tongue, like a 3 piece boot, but it also has toe buckles that worked similar to the rear entry boots. It was Salomon's first "front entry" ski boot, but is was actually a combination of rear/mid/front entry features.
It was a noodle that skied and fit like shit, but an improvement over the SX91.

Salomon and Atomic boot projects are separate, not shared. Atomic boot is much lighter with great ROM, I've heard VERY good things about this boot. The instagram photos are the Salomon, which is more freeride oriented, direct competition for the Vulcan/Mercury. There is a lighter version of the Salomon out of the same mold but is not in the same league as the Atomic.
VICTORY!

new dynafit freetouring ski line. amongst them one a bit wider than the grand teton, one a bit wider than the huascaran. both with a bit smaller radius and probably full rocker.
