This thread is evolving to gold, not like this hasn't been discussed ten times over. I know wade, what he's trying to protect, and why. While I don't neccassarily agree with his brash and often argumentative nature I certainly appreciate the discussion that it always brings up.

Sometimes I feel I can relate to the wildlife up here in getting pushed further and further back to escape the encroaching blowup up fancy threaded gnar-rad-shralpers. I have yet to see any of the real gems exposed, really there is just so much terrain and 90% of people are in the same roadside attractions pain training their way up the poop skidded super highways. Really I feel that I only see the crowds in the parking lots. Ya, I'm in on the newbie thing but I've been around long enough to see the 20fold increase, wade actually showed me a few of his precious zones back in the day and I subsaquentely took some of my bros there as well, but I tried to avoid dropping names and pinpointing locations on social media (unless it was already played out I guess

I think the frustrating thing is how perspective changes as you get older and posting stories and pics all over the web about your shralp-gnaradness doesn't really hold the same appeal. Shit, I think I started a few of the AK season threads back in the day and certainly posted my share of ego boosting porn, I'm not really one to talk, but its too late for that now...

A little video of some turns in May before the fishing season ramped up down here in southeast.

Somebody doesn't know where to get fresh tracks... Tincan looks skiied out way faster than it actually is.

you are right, the only place to ski in southcentral alaska is tincan, nobody should go anywhere else ever.

??? So they don't hurt Wade's feelers? That's surely not what I said.

No, I don't want to see other peoples tracks, let alone cross them. But I'm gonna die in an avalanche because if you ski somewhere other than tincan or Alyeska, YOU WILL DIE!

yeah our spot in the ak range was a very inaccessible secret spot noone ever goes to.

it starts with a ka and ends with a na. thats the only clues i'll give you guys.

that being said, talkeetna air taxi dropped off 100 people in 2 days the last 2 days we were there. one of the groups was 30 koreans literally going out for a weekend camping trip. the rangers told them they could only walk within a 200 foot radius of their tent. they went sledding... not to mention their flightseeing tours and glacier tourist landings. on our flight out they put us in a plane with some tourists...along with our 5 plastic cans full of human feces...

    the tourons have already arrived.

I hate to say it but snowtel really is not that accurate, at least in the Valdez/Cordova area. We use at least 20 different sites to determine conditions. I would give you them but it won't let me post anything because I am a "minion". Good Luck!
