Ski season lives on in CT. Took the "scenic" route to the lumber yard this afternoon and got in a couple of quick laps of corny goodness. Last week's temps killed the wall to wall coverage and there's now only one top to bottom trail left with some mandatory fast grassing to connect the dots back to the truck. Neither wolves nor wolf mangled carcasses were spotted and I didn't get any video as I'm not skilled enough to tuck my iPhone into my pack's waist belt while crushing the gnar, but I did snap a pic

Does anyone know if Ragged or Sunapee have enough snow for a quick skin up and down? Thinking of hitting one of them up tomorrow...

    Thanks in advance

ahh, I just read the report - 4. The Sherburne ski trail is what you would expect after 2″ of rain followed by freezing temperatures. You can still make it to the parking lot but expect detours around ice, large bumps, bare spots and open water drainages.
It wasn't actually that bad - some grassing was required but did not take off skis.

Hilmans skied great - the top part was soft wintry snow, middle was perfect corn and the bottom was refrozen sun-cupped chunder, which however softened up and skied better with traffic.

Lets hope the weather holds up tomorrow.

Sunapee looked good on the drive by tonight...even still lots of snow on Pats Peak. Don't hold me to it, but worth a try I'd say.

    Love the name JW.

The GOS reports are probably going to make me envious but had a great day at Cannon. Even a pretty decent amount of untracked cream cheese on ungroomed parts of the Front Five (not that this photo really shows that - top of Avalanche). FUN.

Giddy with corn delight. Awesome day out there, in the lot drinking toppers by 2. Great birthday tour for Drew, Happy Birthday Bud.

    Excellent, TC!

My trip in there last week was the best coverage (for me) in at least the last 5 years.

I imagine the GOS trail is close to done however? I was surprised how much snow was lost on the trail just from Fri to Sat.

    Thanks guys!

trail was actually still top to bottom right to the lot and skied really well. There is a bunch of snow on the flat sections lower down where it intersect with avalanche brook trail, with deep wells around the trees still. There are the normal 2 stream portages but they are short and easily manageable with rocks to walk across. Some of the upper section may separate this week where it has been wind swept right after the graham trail exit. But I would give another week or so before lots of walking and taking skis off ensues.

Home for lunch and can report a dreary day on tap at teh bush. Needle has not moved from 37` all day nor has the ceiling gone above 23-2400' with an on and off drizzle/sleet combo.
    Back to work.

Late reply, but yes, quite a bit of snow at Sunapee.

The access trail the the abandoned corn fields of the Hinterlands is getting a bit thin. More proof that the Charger BC is truly an all-terrain ski:

The harvesting was good though. It may not be the Gulf of Slides but it is all we have up here and there is LOTS of snow left:

Why, thank you. It got a little messy later on, so we had to leave:
