Finished tile prep thought I was going to get a ride in. Started squalling around 3 and about an inch on the geound now. Kinda funny to go from no freeze to snow in < 24 hours.

    Looking out my window

Drove from Albania to Plattsburgh and back today. Light snow squalls from Lake George north this morning.

Saw the same view of Mansfield but from a bit farther away. Spent a fair bit of time partying in Tupper in the very early 80s.

That's awesome man. Wish that were the case still but the RA's this year are nazis about anything and everything. The view is by far the best part, sometimes hypnotizing, sure beats the hell out of Buckham.

To be filed under the proud parent category: Picked up the kid from school today and she says, "you know it snowed on the mountain today" in an excited voice, I say yes, I even drove out of my way to take a look at the mountain to check it out, she responds, "remember last season you said I could stay home from school one day if it snowed before the resort opened so we could go hike and get first turns, can we go tomorrow?"

We told the story at dinner and the wifey just didn't seem to get the same sense of pride out of it as I did. I had to remind jr that I'm still a good 6-8 wks away from being out of gimp central but the whole conversation made me smile and evoked a little fear at the same time since high school is only a few years away. I can imagine the principal email now, "your daughter has not been at school for several days and since we haven't heard from you or your wife we are just calling to see if she is ok"...ohhh, shit!

EOB - Not only do we now know where you live but to scare you a bit more, I could be at your door in about 5 minutes, save me a beer!

    Winter tires are on.

Nothing is set in stone...but I should be skiing this weekend.

I need to figure my logistics like where am I sleeping on Friday (Montreal or Townships) and Saturday night. Leaving Ottawa tomorrow and crossing the border early Saturday morning. What out for moose.

Odds are that it going to be at Sunday River. And skiing on Saturday.

Unless I go for the real longshot and decide to go to the zoo, oops I mean at the beast, on the 2for1 at ski Kmart on Saturday then the River on Sunday.

This is going to be a short drive compared to last October turns in West Virginia.

Yeah happy trails dude, I hope CMS delivers almun. bulletins that far. My bro in law is down there and just leaves his gear with his parents for the holidays. Looks like we'll be after it this turkey day though.

I was half expecting a few pics from you this morning after hearing a similar report from a friend staying at the lodge late yesterday.

I'll probably get there around 1ish today.

For those of you a bit too far south to get into the mountains, you might want to check this out:
    http://trailspinners.org/event/mtb-jamboree
JOIN US FOR THE MID-ATLANTIC'S SEASON-END MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE & FESTIVAL!
The 2013 installment of the Trail Spinners Jamboree is just around the corner, and here is what you need to know…

    This year's event will feature…
GROUP RIDES - Self-guided group rides on marked courses through beautiful Fair Hill
LIVE MUSIC - Local bluegrass/folk favorite Valley Creek!
BIKE DEMOS & INDUSTRY VENDORS - Niner, Breezer, Jamis and some other bike companies will be on hand with demo fleets for riders take a test ride, and to check out their latest products.

Looks like a good time...and who doesn't want to test out a R.I.P9 or J.E.T.9.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

    Stowe is looking luscious.

Seems like this thread came just in time for this season.

Dutchman, I will be paying some homage to Ullr this pm if you catch my drift.
