So I picked up a pair of brand new vertical ft12 heels for a song and I'm getting new skis. Has anybody tried radical toes with vertical heels? How does it affect ramp angle? Seems like ramp would be the only issue.

I had found that thread but I missed the discussion on ramp angle. What's the radical toe pin height compared to vertical?

It should work fine. I measured 34mm toe pin height on both with the OEM baseplates. Heel pin height is also the same.
Hmm so basically no difference. Nice.

Or if you really want to drive yourself crazy with all this heel>toe delta stuff, the detailed numbers are buried on the fourth and fifth tabs/pages on the spreadsheet linked from the fourth paragraph here:

Probably easier to download the file rather than view it on-line.
Mo' skimo here: NE Rando Race Series
Can I assume that the resultant skiability factored somewhere in all of those delta numbers will change depending on the cuff angle of the boot and whether the ski has rocker and how much? My Megarides have a stated forward lean angle of 19/24 while my Ones have a stated FLA of 15/18 but I can only find one in the One.
What the heck. I had the time. We'll see how they ski.

A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
Unscrew, flip the lean lock plate and rescrew to get the other one.
Oh yeah, ramp and FL are connected but somebody other is more qualified to explain it. I've figured my preference through lots of trial and error. Your shims put you pretty much where I am.
Question for the group: Where do I get Radical toes? Directly from Salewa NA?
^^^^^ Or a splitboard retailer like this
Yeah, I got some from Spark R&D.
There are 1 or 2 other site to get Radical toes, most areound $140 a pair. Seems like Rad toes with shim and FT12 heels are the sweet rig.

That's what I'm thinking.

TLT Speed heel, Rad toe with a Dynafit toe raiser using leashes. net 11.7 May be even less just eye balling it.
Only seen race bindings lower.
The binders below are nasty for the buy in but worth the extra dollars imo for less ramp and less weight.
Jonathon kindly shared the following:
Speed Superlight is 3 (my bench mark for a "good ramp angle")
Low Tech Race is -1 (another solid dh performer for ramp angle)

My bad. Measured a pair of Radical ST's yesterday and got 35mm for the toe and 50.5mm for the heel, pretty much what Lou D. has.
What about a beast toe with ft heels? Hmmm

The pivoting Beast toe needs a heel with lateral elasticity to be effective - the FT is not the heel you're looking for. My vote for best mix-and-match tech combo at the moment is Radical toe with ST/FT baseplate and Plum Guide heelpiece.

I still don't get the plum hype. I've been on dynafits for years with no problems. And I like the brakes.

Ramp? I have 51mm for the Guide heelpiece pins, so .5mm more ramp than the all-Dyna combo. Haven't seen a Plum brake yet, but it sounds like the baseplate will be the same thickness as the Yak/J'Envoi du Gros one, so add 8mm to the toe height if you like brakes.
Same weight as the Speed Radical and better retention in the forward axis, my insta-tele episodes have gone away with Plums. But if you've had no problems with Dynafits for years, why not save some money and have a brake you can actually use today?
Here is where I got my toes to match my FT baseplate.

Yeah heres another, looks like the costs went up $20 since I looked at them last season.

Thanks. Heard that was "the" combo. It obviously isn't if the intention is to lower your ramp angle. The older Speed TLT heel, a Radical toe with the Dynafit factory shim lowers the the heel by 10.8mm from what you have suggested.
Your combo is a higher ramp angle than even the Speed Radical. And a good deal more expensive.
I aslo use the B&D risers under the Radical toes to match the ramp angle of my alpine set up.
