Put this out this early mainly for the Wildcat / Attitash deal through September, saving space for later.

I know there is much hatred for Killington but I do have to admit it's getting better. The new boss is trying to return to the vibe that existed a few years back that focused on skiing and good times.

If you buy 7 Killington unrestricted tix at $58 each, you get the eighth free. That's $50.75 each on a ticket that could be as much as $89. Group buys are the answer unless you ski there a lot and don't get a pass. Goniff just bought 8 and I'm paying him back for a few.

Also, if you're a vet, you can get a free Express Card that gives 25% off weekends and 50% off weekdays. After 6 uses of the Express Card, the 7th visit is free.

Also, if you buy the Express Card ($89) before 10/17, you get a free unrestricted ticket. That pays for the card with the free ticket. Vets can't get the free ticket...because you're not paying for the card in the first place.

Last year, they let us apply the cost of the Express Card and/or any unused K58 tickets toward the purchase of a spring pass ($199). I went 14 times once the Spring pass kicked in making my daily cost $14 and change. Hint, make sure you look at the K58s and ensure you use the "freebie" during the winter because if that's leftover, they won't give you any credit toward the Spring Pass. Also, vets get no Express Card credit toward a Spring Pass because you didn't pay for it.

I sure hope Magic has a few of those $25 days like the past few years.

IMO K-Mart has the best early season (Oct/Nov) skiing in New England. I've had some killer fun days there with maggots and other friends. By late December the place is a shitshow but prior to that there is potential for good fun.

Rollback the clock day at MRG. No pre-purchase necessary, it always sneaks up on me and I have other plans. Mrg summit this year on rollback the clock day?

$194 version of Mad card for a bit extra gives you kid's season pass.

nope. sunday river goes t2b while k is still downloading and only offering the 600 top vert. and k is WAY more busy. the riv is a bit cheaper too.

just sayin. love that k is going long again. props to them.

saddleback daily tickets are still 49.00 i think with every 1st sunday of the month 29.00 for us maine residents.

loon does 20.00 noon to 4pm on sundays all season. as does the kitty. could be 25.00 at one of em, can't remember exactly.

Any idea if they're strict with their "inventory"? IE - if you go on the website right now and buy a ticket for a weekend in january, it says "only X left." Trying to decide if I need to buy a ticket pack now (~$46/day) or if I can just buy them online as I go.

^^ I'd buy as you go. I got a $40 ticket on 12/27 last winter during a nice storm and bought it the night before. It fluctuates a little (sometimes as cheap as $35) but in general mags can almost always finagle a good price at Magic.

The last two years I was at SR in October it was download or ski an extra 200vert and then do the mudwalk to the lodge. K is apt to have more natural snow by mid Nov which makes the terrain way more interesting by that point. Nobody wants to ski the ribbon for 8 hours, obviously.

that extra 200 vert is actually 800 vert.i'll take 1400 vert over k's 600 with 10 times the people and higher ticket price. natural snow by mid nov? heh, ya and there's no such thing as jan thaw

You're doing it wrong...I didn't pay for skiing on Oct 13 last year at K. And when we hiked from parking lot to summit after getting bored with the WROD there was ankle deep natural in the woods.

I skied SR back when it was only 1 mountain and the snow was always great there...it's just too far from where I live.

Who wants to ski at Loon noon-4 on a Sunday?...unless it's dumping it will be scraped clean by then.

ya, have fun with that ankle deep gnar

most loon skiers leave by 10-11am on sundays. they don't ski all day like the vt skiers from nj/ny. plus by noon (if it isn't dumping) all the snow is awesomely pushed and piled deep on the sides cuz the skiers there generally only ski the middle of trails.

and yes, great when it's dumping or in march/april when it's sunny warm corn fun.

After a few beers, I'm sure it was at least knee-deep.

Loon = meh...seems like every trail but the 2 on North Peak are double fall line or as busy as Grand Central at 5 pm on a workday

I believe this is the current skullcandy passport. Good number of East Coast tickets and then a few if you travel. You get this when you buy a Geigerrig hydration pack-just make sure it is for this coming year; website not crystal.
    http://www.geigerrig.com/passport/index.html

Looks like Black Mountain in Maine will live another life and most likely will have the $15 tickets again.

I give the douche to the Mountain Collective, that limited partnership that would like you to buy lifetime memberships in its mountain playgrounds. You can do that right here in the State of Maine at Mount Abram Ski Resort, make sure you keep checking the site. Mountain Collective-douche.

Haven't found this year's iteration but this one has been around for a few years so don't doubt that it will be again this year. Basically buy 8 gallons of gas 3 times and get a 2-for-one at a bunch of areas.

In the past there were coupons at grocery stores and some sort of a winter tourist book that had 2fers for VT mountains. If anyone comes across any coupons that work on weekends, I would be interested. The above gas card does not include gas stations in Maine. I do have the dartmouth children's hospital ski and ride card mentioned in the first post and I think when I receive it, there will be some VT deals for the weekend. Would like to ski Vtah powder this winter.

go to burke cat. even if jay gets 2 feet and burke gets 10-12", burke skis soooooooooooooo much better and you'll ski untracked on the open trails long after jays woods are vw sized moguls.

I'll ruin it even further by promoting Wa-WaWachusett!

Okay, so in my (limited) defense, I use my pass only for "victory laps" following dawn patrol skinning, and for Route 2 "rest stop" evening laps returning from Boston biz trips.

But the Bronze pass (all nights + non-holiday midweek days) is only $239 when purchased through a "GPS" club (can use "SKIVT" if you don't have your own club):
    http://www.wachusett.com/GroupSales/...6/Default.aspx

... and a surprising number of discounts at "real" ski areas (including a free Killington express pass):
