Bay Area Mags:Snowlands Fundraiser Movie Night in Oakland, Thu 9/26. Any Takers?
Yo Thread!
Sorry for the minor Hijack.
Snowlands Network is having a couple of fundraisers around the SF Bay Area in a coupla weeks.
Showing a bunch of Adventure Movies (Banff Mtn Film Fest - World Tour).
http://snowlands.org/
Tix are $20, or $17 if you are an REI member & buy in advance.
Me & Cinders are going to the show on Thurs 9/26 at The Grand Lake Theatre as we live pretty close.
Any other LOakals gonna make an appearance?
There are a few bars around if you fancy a meet-up (Alley, Heart & Dagger, Easy Lounge)?
Or the green space across the street for something more free-form...???
Come on out, Maggots!!!
Now, I gotta give you a hard time TJ
First off, it was featured on the TGR Front Page, here already!
More to the point, this should be in the old Tahoe Thread. It's from Last Season goddamit!
That's where it was talked about - here it has no context.
Plus it is a mostly shitty video - I liked one pov bit. Plenty of slow-mo bollox for the troubled youth to enjoy...
Man what a waste! All that build, for a couple of runs

And while we're pitching fundraisers, a bit closer to Tahoe, one hour north....
The Lost Sierra Hoedown is on the schedule for September 20-22 at the Johnsville Ski Bowl. Here's the quick facts:
• 12 bands in Americana style
• Headliners: Dead Winter Carpenters, Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, Miner, Rose's Pawn Shop
• Onsite and offsite camping
• Benefits the Ski Johnsville Fund, which hopes to re-open the area using the old Squaw Mainline lift.
• $50 weekend ticket includes a free Klean Kanteen pint cup
Here's a link to the latest promo piece at UnofficialAlpine. It features some 60's & 70's ski footage from Johnsville with music from Theodore Lovely, a local band that started in Truckee.
Here's the link to the Lost Sierra Hoedown site.
See ya there.

I resent the term Loakal.
Schralph and friends will be bike riding to the Grand Lake Theater.
Heart and Dagger Saloon after the show.
I hope $20 still buys "an arm's length" of raffle tickets ..._______________________________________________

If Rod Dibble is still alive and tinkling the ivories (and according to the establishment's FB page, he is), I'd make a b-line to The Alley apres show and get all y'all's piano man karaoke on (the drinks there are cheap, the ambiance is unlike any other bar in the Bay Area, and Rod Dibble is the man on the keys).

^ Wish I could make that slideshow ... tell Todd and Doug I said what's up!
That also reminds me that I still owe Doug photos of bikini SUP action in the glacial arctic fjords ..._______________________________________________

There are only two options in Olympic Valley, ttbomk: AT&T DSL (where you can get it; you can't in most of Alpine below Bear Creek Association) and Exwire. Suddenlink is supposed to be finalizing the rights of way to run fiber, but that's at least a year out.
We'll, you can pay AT&T for a T-1, but that's not much of an option.
On an unrelated topic... What's the current thinking on whether we have to pay the Cal Fire fee?

I thought the reason the old thread was so quiet was that everyone moves to padded room to talk about powdork's lease.
I have been training for 13/14 snow since Labour Day so that's my season start. Bring on the deep!Even sometimes when I'm snowboarding I'm like "Hey I'm snowboarding! Because I suck dick, I'm snowboarding!" --Dan Savage

Jeebus there is a lot of chatter. It is surf season boys. After that we ski. Good news is these storms y'all are looking at will give us waves. So, yeah. That. Now I'll wait until the snow flies to return.
