A younger Shaq had a similar disposition to Dwight did and he didn't get nearly the scrutiny. If D12 ever grows up and learns to shoot FTs the Rockets will be a powerhouse. He was hurt last year.

I suppose one can argue that no one can work with Kobe and remain happy, but D12's immaturity was in evidence long before he went to the Lakers. It might work out in Houston - history seems to say otherwise, though.

No, they were slightly different. An article I read the other day said it best. While Shaq was very much like Dwight off the floor, once he got on the floor he was always a beast. You can't say that about Dwight. He's still a joker when he steps out of that tunnel. Shaq generally didn't have off nights until he got fat and "old."

Charles Barkley isn’t happy with what he’s seen on NBA courts this season.
“I will tell you this,” Barkley said to Frank Isola and Stacey King, “I’ve been in the NBA since 1984. And as a fan – and I’m a fan foremost – I’m embarrassed at the level of play in the NBA today. And they’re always talking about, ‘You old guys, young guys, old school, new school’ … let me tell you something: I’ve been in the NBA since 1984, I’ve never seen the NBA as bad as it is right now. This is trash that I’m watching. It’s almost unwatchable, some of these games.
“I feel bad for the fans, to be honest with you,” Barkley said.

If Barkley is bemoaning the flopping and the heavy handed refereeing, then I agree that the game is in some ways less fun than the olden days. If it's a question of talent - no way, the league is awesomely talented. Talent distribution is another problem with super teams basically requiring 2+ super stars in order to play at the top levels - this is what is driving the tanking, the lack of competition, the devaluation of modest contributors and "balanced" teams, and the degradation of true team play (except in a few cases like the Spurs). If you look at coverage of the league - it has never been better and it has never been easier to follow the stars or teams you care about - that's great for the fans.

Not sure what you are going for with that comment.
Aldridge was a monster last night - an incredible performance. As far as LaMarcus being the only star - perhaps you're ignorant to our other All Star, Damian Lillard. He was last year's unanimous rookie of the year, competed in all the all-star events this year, and signed the second largest Adidas basketball contract a few weeks ago; that's serious star power and he's a very gifted player. Portland also has 2 players of the top five 3-point shooters (Lillard & Matthews) and one of France's best players (Batum) in the starting line up.another Handsome Boy graduate
