Well, the one I heard about has been pushed back a year apparently. Now I wonder what else might show up for full squish fat by the winter riding season. I really think I want to go that way, ya know once you've gone fat...

Anyone have time on or an opinion of the Farley 8?
My pugs beat and this is probably the best bike my LBS can get.

What a great year it's been! I'm having more fun riding my fatbike than anything I've ridden in 20 years. Gen 2 incoming, new thread time?
Tomorrow I fly out to UT to go play with all the new Salsa and Surly offerings at Snowbasin. I have a Bucksaw reserved
I really want a full squish fatty to call my own

^^^^ Not bad for a springr fork fatty. A Thud buster or Brooks saddle on that and it would suit 90% of most trail riding.
Frame specs look ok, not big on the hubs/wheels/tires/BB/cranks but that stuff can get changed out as you ride.watch out for snakes

Did I tell y'all I got to play with the Bucksaw for a few days? Wow!! Zippin' along at mach silly and giggling the whole time. The bike really doesn't care what the terrain is like it just goes.
It goes down better than my Enduro, it corners exceptionally well and it goes up ok too. I would change the tires out pretty quickly quickly to something that rolls better and is a half inch or so bigger and then I think it should climb better than my rigid fattys.
I want one... :-)
The Mukluk with the Bluto is also a bunch of fun and would be an admirable addition to any quiver. All the things a Muk has always been good at and a few new benefits thrown in. If bikepacking is your thing the new Blackborow is pretty unique and worth a look.
We just got a bunch of Fatboys in the shop. All sizes in pretty much all of the colors. The new Gallardo Orange is pretty vivid if that's your thing.

Any buzzsaw porn?
Do you think the split pivot rear is up to the task?

Yep blu needs Blue
Scotty - That rear end is fantastic. It tracks true and is easily controlled through braking bumps and in corners it's easy to drift and reconnect (although a lot of that is the tires.) I was only able to do the most rudimentary adjustments at the demo tent, no trail tools, but I think that with a bit of fiddling with tire and suspension pressures you could really make it the outright quiver killer mt bike.

SWEET! I like to run my Nate on the rear reverse with a Hodu up front.
I checked out the split rear on another Salsa and it seemed nice. No real riding on it tho.watch out for snakes

So after a few days of thinking about it the big take away is how late I was able to wait before braking going into a turn and how predictable the back of the bike is through the rough stuff and how much better it should be if the suspension is really set up properly. As much as I think I want one I will probably wait for gen 2 fat suspension forks as they can only get better. I can see getting one now for my Fatboy though.

Searching for a better saddle than the one that came with my Kona, and where can I find colored tire liners? Any recommendations.

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.

So how does the size run on these? Noticed in your pics it looks like a small frame?
Finally got to look at some specs and I would be a Medium at 6' and 32" inseam?watch out for snakes

It was my first real experience with it other than some short jaunts. I think I like it but, maybe because I'm so used to having a low and high range I kept looking for a different gear combination and kept trying to shift with my left hand. A few rides with it on trails I'm familiar with would probably leave me feeling good about it.
Yup I ride a small @ 5'6" with a ~28' crotch to floor.

So I finally got to talk to the local Salsa dealio, for almost an hour, who got rides on the demo. He's got one on order and its gonna be mine.
He also told me the RS Bluto recommended pressures are on the low side. Lot of folks were bottoming out. The Salsa rep who is haulin the bikes around sez the demos are holding up well which is good to hear.
Still never bought a bike with out riding first before.watch out for snakes

That's strange. I had to drop the pressure in the fork to get the full travel. Like I said, it will take a bit of fiddlin' around to really get it figured out. Look how most people still don't understand setting up suspension on skinny tired bikes.

I got around to throwing a Bluto on my Fattie this weekend, setup as a 29+ for summer right now, I'm finding it to be a LOT of fun!

So the Bluto fits a 29+? Does that Borealis frame fit 29 + and 26 fatties? If so, that's rad!!!!

Yes 29+ fits with plenty of room with the Bluto and the Borealis frames handle 29+ with ease and the biggest of the fat 26" tires.
The Bluto uses a 150mm hub, but I found this company that makes end caps so I can use my existing 135mm hubs and switch easily the same wheelset between my carbon fork and the Bluto.
