There's been Isle of Man TT footage posted here before but I thought there was only the TT, not a full-on multi-bike race, or is that just practice or fancy editing or what?
that velcro thing they were putting on the bike's rear wheel, is that some sort of rain chain or something?
Questions not really directed right at you, OP. Just wondering.
One "n" btw.

Velcro thing is an electronic tire warmer. You put them on before the race to bring the tires up to operating temps so that they are warm right out of the start, and you can go hard on the first lap.

Lots of that type of closed road racing goes on in Ireland and lots of TT riders are Irish*. Laws in UK very difficult to close roads or allow racing on them. When Birmingham had a city center F3000 race 20 oddd years ago it required an act of parliament to allow automobile racing on "Her Majesty's public highways". Also the same reason world's first purpose built racetrack was at Brooklands, England in 1900's... while European racing was still city to city events on roads.
*Which helps contribute to the they're all fucking nuts.

They should periodically make them go through small, single-bike sized openings (see squirrel suit guy).

The last 2 minutes were intense. One of the best POV's I've seen in a while.

It is getting insane. I could see it when a bike might top out at 120 or 130, Bad suspension so they had to manage the road.
Now? Holly shot, I think if you make it through 1 you should call it a day.
But I sure like to watch.
The Pikes Peak run every year come pretty close in my book.Own your fail. ~Jer~

Fascinating article in last months Motorsport magazine about the life of Barry Sheene and how he wouldn't race there again after his one visit in 1971. I'd also forgotten that TT used to be a round of the World Championship.
Rossi said the same thing after one demonstration lap in 2009.

There was a great documentary on the people of The Isle of Man basically saying fuck you to the world about their race. Think I saw it on Netflix, or Speed.

I've been watching this stuff since I was a kid and I still can't figure out how they pull out of those wobbles. Anyone know from experience? Throttle?
