The discussion about music to clear the room in the PR reminded me of this:

Before you get on my ass, Kurt Cobain was a huge fan of the Raincoats.

One of the best live bands I've ever seen, back around 1991 or so. Blue Sky Mining tour, Berkeley Greek Theater.

I think I'll go to the Oakland show for the reunion tour.

    Fuck I love George.

Here's a new Blackberry Smoke tune I've been hearing and which I like a lot, damn do I agree with the lyrics:

Better studio audio on the same song:

haha, just saw this, yes I did notice the Raincoats were on Cobain's Top 50 (along with the Shagg's).

That was serious solid heads up, thank you. I just got on the presale list for a show at a venue about 5 miles from my house in May. Tix go on sale in 3 days, I'll report back.

I had a semi-transcendent experience involving Beds Are Burning back in 1988 in Wyoming during the Yellowstone Fires. Key elements include Alaska, divorce, massive conflagration, a married woman from Minnesota, a bar, and a motel in Red Lodge Montana. The whole story is probably best told in person over a drink, but here:

    It always takes me back.

Just got home from the show. I mean the talent is undeniable and there were moments.... but I wasn't all that stoked actually. Show started out great, throwing lots of genres at us, seeing if you could keep up and playing the shit out of it, all good so far, but then they basically did Space for over 20 minutes, then a half-hour break, then out of the break a kinda fusion thing forever. It wouldn't stop.

DT is unbelievable I mean no question. I feel that he feels the guitar as a living thing, as part of his body almost. There's only been a few guys like that.
