The accent thing made perfect sense, it was part of the character. He used it when he wanted to seem "southern" for one reason or another. Haven't any of you known people who have an accent that comes out at certain times, like being drunk, around someone with a similar accent, etc? Frank Underwood is a conniving SOB, he simply knows how/when to use it.

Just finished the 3rd episode of season 2. Terrific writing and acting, fully gripping. The perfect antidote to Downton Abbey.

meh, however annoying the role could be, it provided a nice dual storyline structure. now, it's sort of aimless and ends up "The West Wing breaks bad". not that reality is the strong point of the series, but they picked what I'd think one of the least probable places to kill someone in DC and get away with it.

Looking forward, how can network tv compete with the quality and content of this format?
Its a joke, really.

Comcast/Xfinity were throttling my Netflix viewing last night.
House of Cards was most definitely not as HD as when it left Netflix's servers.
I'm sure that the Time Warner merger will see this kind of thing nipped in the bud and I'll be able to enjoy blazing fast content of my choice....

FINALLY started watching the series last night. Just 2 episodes into season 1, but FKNA, entertaining as hell.
I've always had a thing for Robin Wright (well, ever since Princess Bride) and I think she's just getting hotter.
Spacey is a stage actor first and it kinda comes through in roles where he has to be an over-the-top character.
That's my take as well.
Not understanding your point. Do you have any idea how much money the networks have compared to Netflix or even HBO? The problem with shows on the 4 majors is the need for commercial breaks.

The netflix/HBO business model relies far more on making these kind of high production value shows than the networks do - it's in there interest to just make cheap mass produced shit for schedule filling that simply gets sufficient eyes on Ads.
Most overrated film of all time.

I thought this season was not nearly as good as the first. Felt like it got trite. The main characters became one trick ponies that were caricatures of something that looks like evil, instead of actual characters.

Anyone seen the trailer for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
In the game, it appears that Kevin Spacey plays a similar character to that which he plays in House of Cards. Which is an interesting tie in, considering Spacey's character played COD all through the first season of HOC.

Probably not words to live by, but these Frank Underwood quotes are delicious (20 Photos)

I'm 2 episodes into the new season and already like it much more than last season. Frank doesn't really seem weak like he did before.

Funny thing to me is, this could be a political biopic.
I have no doubt that things in Washington get pretty close to this show.
