TR - Whitecap Alpine 3-1/2 days of touring

Whitecap Alpine is situated in a broad valley just North of Pemberton offering both Alpine and Tree skiing for skiable terrain in all kinds of weather and conditions.

Its proximity to Pemberton, makes is a convenient destination for those who can not, for whatever reason, embark on a one week trip – whether it be the two day travel time to get to the Interior, the one week in a remote hut or people who may not know if they can handle such a trip.

Whitecap offers the same experience in a less intimidating package. That being said, you can also stay for a week to truly explore the vast terrain.

Here is day one of our trip:

We get out for a short ski on day one

The girls pee tree! ( really this is awesome...)

Nice thing about staying in a hut, you have more time to relax, drink and someone else cooks for you!

Looking forward to the full trip TR. Day 1 looked good, distinct lack of foot which is bizarre but not unpleasant.

Despite the fact that we had the unholy trinity of SW and NW winds to totally fuck over all skiable aspects we were able to Always Find Pow.

I'd like to think that I've got good snow sense but we were guided on this trip by Lars and Neil who most definitely aren't just ACMG but also AFP

You get a short ski day when you fly in so just the sunset on the ridge transitioning shot

    Day two at Whitecap Alpine
    http://www.leelau.net/sharonandlee/w...ampiro-lesbos/

Vampiros Lesbos, a place rarely skied since there is lots inbetween here and the hut when 80km winds hadn’t schralped the snow. This area is SE of Star Mountain.

    Heading down the valley

    Lots of potential!

    Found some good snow

Subscribed. Looking good so far. Despite snow conditions looking like a damn good time. Gotta love good food especially when its being cooked for you. A hut trip should be in my future soon.

    Day 3.

We split into two groups, one to find pow in some short tree laps, one group did a longer circle tour where finding pow would be the bonus.

    We did find pow!

We did a cool tour, it was windy today.

and we did have some good skiing

BBQ ribs when we got home!

20km tour today, 1700m of climbing.
