    Time release grunge injector

A couple years ago Lola Corolla III was run with the oil filler cap off. (Lola is a `98 Toyota corolla with 347KKM) The felt or whatever fabric thing stuck to the underside of the hood got soaked with oil. I took it to the car wash and had at it with the high pressure hose. Still the hood liner drips like fucking mad all over my headlights. WTF is it for? Can I just rip it off and call it good?

Sound deadening. You can probably get a replacement liner cheap.

Zepp, at home depo is an awesome cheap degreaser. White gas, and kerosene are even better.

You could also get one of those engine degreaser sprays.

Most of the ones I've seen in older yotas are ripped to shreds / falling apart anyways. Just take the fucker out.

Sounds like a great way to light your car on fire!
    No longer stuck.

the plastic tabs attaching it to the hood melt in the case of an engine fire, dropping a fire retardant blanket onto the engine to aid in extinguishing it. I rip them out if they're nasty.
