Folgaria, Italy North off Verona
I'm thinking of skiing there Monday as I have the day off. Anybody been?

I've been on skis there a few times. Although that was in the mid-80's. Also toured in the area. It was nice, no pow, but lots of sun and friendly locals that spoke German. I recall a lift that was like a bucket suspended from the cable, one chased it down after the bull wheel and climbed in for a standing ride up the hill. It was pretty cool for a dumb kid from Idaho!
More cowbell!

Sounds about right. I mean it's only an hour and a half drive from Verona, why not, instead of my usual museum/Duomo/winery thing.

I have been once a long time ago and it is not bad. It is not the Dolomites, I remember it as very low key place for regular joes (no getaway of choice of the rich and famous like Cortina, Madonna di Campiglio or Courmayer).
Instead of the usual old town visit (as you say), I would go skiing for sure.
Only caveat: all local hills close to the major cities tend to be really crowded on weekends.
