    WV appalachian hillbilly free-heel

besides the frankenstorm skiing in late october, we have had a decent start to winter in the appalachian high country. Mostly skiing and antics on rossi evo skinny ski's at our freaky "white grass" cross-county ski touring center in canaan valley.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I was there this past weekend and had a blast. South Pipeline and Baldy Grove were awesome.

That's some respectable skiing on XC gear, you guys have some skills. Definitely makes the hill more challenging.

    What boots/bindings are you using?
I need to replace my XC gear this year if we ever get any snow. 320days in Chicago with out an 1".

Most of the skiers are using Rottefella nnnbc auto bindings, and Alpina 1550 boots. The rossi evo trail ski and those boots and bindings make up most of what is in the rental fleet at white grass as the best all around touring setup.

agree with that being the best allround setup. i have enjoyed that same boot and manual version of that binder on a similar ski for many years now. the setup tele's and parallels like a dream in pow and corn.

go any fatter and shaped with a bigger boot and the whole point is missed imo.

Awesome. I especially like the 12 foot huck to flat at 2:00. Who's the chick at 3:40ish (at least I think it's a chick)? Rips.

Your snow conditions are far better than here in CO. How steep a hill can you go up with the Evo's?

Tittyballs! That is some serious mad skills - pure skiing! Thanks for the stoke!

Especially love the hunter orange vest and cap - safety first.

Nice airs! Throw it down. More from this crew!

Great stuff. I try to make my xc skiing jibbery and fun, but that tops anything I've done by miles.

steep as ya want. super steep? just make tighter and more switchbacks. short steep? throw a few running herring bones in or hop up sidesteps. lots o days it's fun to just run up and down all over the place. woods running roolz. touring with skinz is really a limiting buzzkill in so many ways in comparison.

How deep can freshies get before it becomes unfun to break trail?
