old pocket rockets?
I'm considering a pair of Pocket Rockets I found on craigslist. These would be primarily used in the front range back country for search and rescue training and missions. Mounted with older Fritschi bindings - here's a pic. Guy wants $200 for them
Of course, these are old skis, I know that going in. But didn't the pocket rockets have a mostly foam core? Would that have deteriorated by now? Or are these generally still viable skis?
Thanks in advance for any advice

$200 is way to much in my opinion. Try $50.

bend 'em before you buy - my neighbor almost bought a pair at a garage sale last month - I went to flex them and you could hear shit popping and crunching in the ski - I put them down real quick
they'd be decent beaters, but you could do better in Gear SwapI didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Thanks all. If I can get him down to $100 maybe I'll grab them. Will keep an eye on the gear swap page for a better opportunity.

if in good shape the bindings are worth $100 IMHO, so if you get them and then the skis break, who cares?

I bought a pair of old Pocket Rockets just like you are contemplating now. I got them cheap, but realized it was money out of the window the first time I took them out. There are so many other similar skis that are cheap as well and much much better..
Ask yourself how much you are willing to pay for a pair of shot skis.“Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes.”

Shit man. I've got some Atomic R:ex with Naxos and brand new BD skins I'd let all go for $120.

Those appear to be the second generation graphic so only 8 years old (04/05 season)!
If they were worth anything close to $200 with beater fristchs I ought to sell the two pair sitting in my garage.
