We'll know when we test them. I'm not going to hypothesize on something that will undoubtedly change once they get skied. Thinking too rigidly would negate ongoing improvement. But we'll know the first day they get skied.

Cool.
I'm seeing a lot of great designs/shapes coming out (such as the Kusala), but unfortunately most of the manufacturers are keeping the narrowest part of the sidecut, and also the mounting point, toward the tail of the ski in a more traditional location...which doesn't really make sense to me given these are generally newer-school freeride designs, that should have a more forward or more centered mount and sidecut.
See G3 Highball, the last generation Dynastar Legend Prorider 115, etc...
I think 4Frnt is doing something very right with their more centered sidecut and mounting point for their big mountain freeride skis.

Since you asked...I think it needs more taper. The Renegade and L138 are two of my favorite skis, so that's my bias. But I think moving the widest points closer to the middle and making them correspondingly narrower to maintain a mid-30s radius would be ideal.

Just for reference, the centerline represents the true length of the ski.
Expanded to 186, the taper you see compressed in the pdf starts to look different.

Splat!
Looks like a sweet ski! On PM gear's facebook it is posted that the ski is stable up to 200kph.
How is that number calculated?

Calculation table in the WAG manual.
If it works as expected in the 186, we'll bump it up into the 190s (which should dramatically increase the speed limit ).

Sorry, almost all the Kusalas have been pre ordered, Kevino. Just a few orders away from getting to them. Had an airbag blowout on the press the other day that slowed things down, so just have to run some 196s, then 186s, then Kusalas and 186 Lhasa Fats. Been a bit slow this season as I tweaked flexes and rockers on a bunch of the skis to see if I could better performance on most models. Very stoked to be pressing the skis myself now that my knee has totally healed.
auvgeek - Pierre, the engineer, says the sidecut is designed to come into play with the rocker he designed. He has been pretty awesome in the past, so it's wait and see. He's pretty meticulous, so I'm trusting him on this one.
The Don- That's only the base material with a square tail. There's a rounded metal metal piece that is inserted and attaches to it when pressing.

Can't wait, Splat.
Intention is to take a pair with some demos to Gordy camp at the end of the month so Auv, Jondrums, and several other mags will get some time trying them. I get a free pair if I snag a pic of Chompfacekillah on them.Life of a repo man is always intense.

Joy joy. I can compare to renegade for mammoth cement pat
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Since it's finally storming in CO again, if you're interested, I can get it on the feet of the CU big mountain team (I know, almost an oxymoron, but there's quite a few rippers) including the coaches and myself.

First two pair. Quick but crappy pic cause they had to get to FedEx for the campers to test.
