    DIN adjustments / boot filing?

I had some STH 14s mounted to a small MFD plate - my BSL is 319 mm and the guys at MFD told me to go with the small/medium plate (318 mm advertised length) because they save a mm or two for these scenarios.

The tech had to bring the heel piece as far back as it could go due to my BSL being maxed out on the plate. The boot fits the binding with maybe just a little extra push, but I am thinking I should turn down my DIN one setting to compensate for this already maxed-out binding. Does this make sense to do?

Also, this may be a very dumb idea, but has anyone ever filed down their rear heel lug a mm or so in order to make the lug more flush with the heel piece?

No no no. Again no. If the forwards pressure is not right, don't ski it. If you gave a problem, return the plate and get the right one. No worth the injury.
