WWMD:Ski trip (alps, road trip???) or surf trip???

So I have about 10 days off at the end of March early April. Debating between a few options, but the biggest problem is lack of partners in crime since my sugar mamma has to work.

Alps: What Mag's will be where when? I'm only interested in the alps if I can find some doods to ski with. Wouldn't mind heading back to LaGrave or checking out Engleberg...

Western US follow the snow/coach surf (just watched Ptex lies and duct tape yesterday): Could just drive and attempt to follow the snow. Anyone interested?

Surf Trip to Nicaragua/Costa Rica: Have friends for 1/2 the time in Nicaragua and others in CR so might be able to combine groups.

Not primo wave time, but not really primo pow time either...

    WWMD?
    Anyone interested in any options?
What Euro Mag's are going to be skiing then? (March 24-April 4th)

I'm in the exact same boat except March 5-13th. My regular one a year for the last ten years ski trip isn't going down due to newborns, new ranch purchases, prior vactions and various other reasons. I'm taking the week off regardless. Ideas I've had.

    Kalispell>Ferndog>KH>Kootenays>Spokane loop

    Tahoe>Mammy>SoCal loop

    Eurozone maybe

    Tamarindo for a week surfing

I had the same problem but March 14th - 22nd. I decided on Skiing the Alps. Hopefully i will meet up with the euro mags over in Leysin or Verb. I'm just gonna follow where the good snow is. Since this is where i am planning my trip, i'd obviously say go euro, but all those choices would be sick.

Raps, you going solo or with peeps?

Mullet, A La Grave trip is definitely a possibility...

Ireallyliketoski: Thanks for that very incitefull comment

Foggy: Tamarindo is one of the places I would hit for a while if its CR. Did the spokane, Red, Whitewater, Rogers Pass, KH, Whitewater, Spokane loop last year and it was awesome. I personally think Rogers Pass and that region is the best bet for Pow, but not really into it solo. I like to have touring/driving partners. You will have plenty of peeps in CA to ski with. I will be definitely be in Mammy the first weekend. Don't know about the 2nd one yet.

I'd also be around and willing to ski, either lift or skins, if either of you go for the Canuck itinerary.
By late March, especially this year, it might not be a bad strategy to have LL/SSV on your mind as backups for Fernie/Red.

comish - are you out of your mind? My best and most memorable powder days (in Mammoth) have been late March/ early April. Opening day for the Dodgers is almost always the best pow day of the year (don't ask how I know this or equate that date, but it goes back years).

I waqs going to urge you to ski before realising that I'd booked an Easter trip to the Nurburgring with some good friends and now Mrs Roo is badgering me that we should be skiing instead.

She is, as wives and girlfriends always are, of course totally right; you should be skiing. Although burning rubber sounds fun too.

I'm getting the whole, "You're even taking my brother with you so I've got nobody to go skiing with" guilt trip. I think I may be in the doghouse.

Surf- warm water, cold beers, girls in bikinis, hollow waves. Thats the ticket.
Unless your one of those diehards that hang out in ski chat rooms.
