Will Kirkwood Open Saturday, Nov 10?

They have the natural snow base up high to do already. Its dumping and the guns are blasting at the bottom. They rolled everything out down low after the last storm so coverage is good. I think they can open chair 6 and 5, and with excellent conditions if it's their goal.

Is it??

Great idea! That'd give me an excuse to come pick up my pass. The Sacramento NWS guy says KW is getting the best of this storm with 10 inches already. I say let's do it!

perfect snowmaking conditions all day tomorrow. continued snows too. excellent skiing all across the mountain. why wouldn't they?

I doubt it. They aren't opening Northstar until the 16th, so I suspect that would be the earliest they'd open KW.

opening day is slated for the 21st but might be sooner according to a tweet yesterday from kirkwood. also mentioned in the tweet is no uphill hiking at the resort right now. i'm sure powdork will let us know if this is being enforced sometime later today.

I can barely breath after two days of some of the best snow ever. Best go back out tomorrow and choke myself to death. Someone needs to pack that shit down before the east winds come. You can all thank me later with a beer.
