I know it's early to plan, but is anyone from SD area going up weekend of the 15/16? Preferably leaving after work Friday/early Sat, returning Sunday night? Also posted this on the hook up board etc etc

Want to head up that weekend (finally!) but sounds like the gf will need the car in town.

hutash - I could use a BAF ticket or 2

yeah hutash. not knowing the nooks and having half the mountain closed limited where any soft snow would be I think.

i didn't get a look at convict area. may have a pic of bloody/sherwins from monday.

Fun day on the mountain, take a look...

Probably going to head over to Convict to see what’s up, the crest looked fucking ridiculous today and we are probably going to head out that way tomorrow. Let you guys know...

Nice photos PW7!! They really make me want to ski this weekend. It makes me pumped just sitting at my desk. Hopefully the wind will keep things smooth for the weekend, looks like there was some snow to be had.

Way to get into Philippe's. How was it in there? It actually looks more filled in than I expected, amazing for this time of year. How was the exit?

Noids looked nice too, with some huckin' thrown in. Seems like a great day. How much snow would you say they got up high?

    Nice photos, highanxiety.

Any word/photos on conditions around Dana Plateau? Is Powerhouse doable/worth it? I'm assuming lower V Bowl is dirt.

Just got into town last night, so have not been up that way yet. Plan to poke around the crest tomorrow and maybe check out convict area just to see whats up around there.

Hey I recently moved to LA, and will always be looking to share rides and ski this season. I'm fairly new to the forums, but my older brother, Atrain505, could vouch for me if your curious haha.

I'll be heading up this weekend. PM or write back if you would like to ski and/or ride. Thanks

Hey y'all. For anyone whose skied in the area over the last couple of days, what are the avy conditions like around the crest?

Yeah, it's not that difficult to find. And who cares about powder if you can ski steep lines on Bloody, the Plateau, Convict, Rock Creek, ...?

Speaking of which, what's the word on the southern Eastern Sierra, that is Bishop and south of it. Did that get any snow?

Why, thanks! Been some great and photogenic skiing out there, but not necessarily at the same time...

Final run of the day yesterday. Lower Jaws bowl. Better skiing, poorer pic.

We found fairly significant wind affect in the newest (from Wednesday) snow, fwiw. We ran into Sue-the-avalanche-specialist on our way out of the Crest. She was scoping things, getting oriented, gathering data.

Was going to head up with the Wife but she has to bail due to some work stuff she has to take care of this weekend.....still thinking of making the trek thought...

So anyone from LA feel like driving up early tomorrow morning? I'm cool with driving. Short of finding some place to crash would probably just head back Sat. evening.

Camped Bishop Monday night before Mammoth lifts on Tues. Basin mtn looks filled in except toe of slope and up towards Wahoo snow. Depth is the question, as I didn't go all the way up into the buttermilks. Maybe call the gear exchange Bishop and see if they have a Back Country report or just poke around for fun. Would have liked to see Table Mtn, but I assume that will take later in winter to fill in plus I was running late and wanted to get some of Chair 23 before the winds.
Check this site may help. (South Lake)

boomer, any plans to drive up next weekend? I'd assume you're in SD.

Trying to figure out if I can catch a ride or if I want to try and scoop a cheapish flight to SLC. Ski bug hit me hard this week.

North/West of LA actually but on the way I guess. Not sure what the plans are for next weekend, but might be down for another run.

Heading up at the ass crack of dawn tomorrow for the day with CMER, looking forward to 1st tracks of the season.

Wasn't really sure what we were going to find up there today, the turns up high were nice, lower down there was a breakable crust, but not bad on a board. Great little adventure with PW7 for sure, can't really complain for this time of year.
