I love that they're treating this like it's a new thing.
Wait, should I have just posted that? Is skidog's pussy going to bleed all over the place after reading what I just typed? Maybe I should rethink it? Nah, fuck it, it's the intartubes.

^ Ha! I don't know any other companies that sell edgeless boards. +Retro is in right? The tech is actually modern powboard design, rocker and shiz. Don't hate until you try one. Just trying to help a friend out here, would way rather see PJ sell a few boards than Burton. It's a soul riding thing... I'm spamming left and right here and I apologize

What I don't get is how he can be delusional enough to charge what he is charging. The material that costs the most in snowboards isn't there. Throw $500 away on a hope this thing performs? Naw.

Check out Mark Fawcett's woodie models, he's got some with reverse sidecut too.

I'm hoping to get a tryout on one of these this season.

Seriously. 650 bucks for a couple laminated sheets of maple?
I can do that for 20 and a couple hours. Plus you want us to fund your whole project, so you can spend the couple bucks and a couple hours on it? Nah Ill pass.
While cool in concept, Kickstarter has become a place where morons fund other people hobbies.Live Free or Die

$650 gets you plastic base + edges in the kick starter project... Yeah it's pricey, but some people will spend that, more power to them. Standard PJets are $500, + if you sign up for the mailing list you get a coupon. I'm not trying to sell anyone on anything, just spreading the word here that's all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions too!
I'm also repping for Grassroot Powsurf on the East Coast, so PM me if you want a demo... They are also low tech (no bindings!)....
Both PJ and Grassroots are all about having fun! Email from Jesse today:
"Based in a tiny workshop in Vermont, Jesse started hand building wooden snowboards in late 2008. The plan was, and still is, to make the simplest, most eco conscious snowboard possible. Drawing on the history of snowboarding from the deep past to the present, the PowderJet shape is an amalgamation of all the best powder snowboard designs. Jesse has been involved with snowboarding for 25 years, spending time at Burton Snowboards and Transworld Snowboarding magazine in the 1990s, before moving back to VT and starting a family. PowderJet is a micro-business with one employee (the owner) and a bunch of good friends who are great riders."

Here is my demoJet board: http://powderjets.corecommerce.com/P...ype-A-p22.html

$450 - no edges (dont need em') %10 off if you sign the mailing list, not bad IMO. This board used to be $650.. we told Jesse he was nuts.
I don't think I've mentioned that I don't get paid to help PJ, just doing it out of love of the boards.. I basically stole one of his demos and won't give it back
(It's going back soon tho...)

no offense, it was the same thing with Mot when he started making boards out of the igneous factory. He was working out the kinks and asked if I wanted to order a custom board from him. Think he quoted me the low price of $650 or something to that effect. I'm not going to pay to be someones guinea pig. I bet I would have loved what he came up with but I was just no willing to gamble that money on something that hasn't been tested.
He's been making them since 2009 and he needs kickstarter to help him make 25 boards. So... does that mean he has made at most 75 boards? how many people have actually been out on them in all types of terrain? Not very aggressive riding in his videos. You think he'd get someone real good to strap one on and bust some gnar to prove the validity of his product.
Good for him, hope he does well for himself and makes sick boards. Living the dream. Just giving my $.02Wait, should I have just posted that? Is skidog's pussy going to bleed all over the place after reading what I just typed? Maybe I should rethink it? Nah, fuck it, it's the intartubes.

I guess the kick starter will help with some new mold for the new base or something? He's has made over 200 boards, not sure the exact #, but I know each one takes a few days to make.
Pretty mellow here in VT..
Last year sucked.. here's one of the decent days..
Watch this one, VT gravel pit GNAR! Not epic terrain, but big for Vermont!
I know they have some sick footage from Japan not released yet... Webisodes are soming, here is a link to the pilot...

Enjoy!

I have ridden the Powder Jet... at Retallack. The Board is way fast, felt like I was on a rocketship.

Shape reminds me of those black powder or whatever they were called plastic snowboards (also with no edges) from Toys R Us when I was a kid. He'll probably do well, the people on Kickstarter seem to fund anything.
Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

Black snow. Rocked one with my sorel's on the abandoned ski hill across the street from my house when I was a little guy. Think mine came from Caldor or Bradlee's.
