Brohemia was pretty damn good yesterday. Coverage is the best i've seen it in three years. I took the Lhasas out and wasn't bummed about it at all. Ripley was frickin sick the other day though...I was with turkeyUP, and shit was nipples deep. He was gobbling down the whole fucking hill like a gad damn British whore chasing Hugh Grant.

Also, where's that stoke brah?? Thought you were gonna post some ski porn?

    TRANNY MUCH?!?

Is either of you "Trail Genuis" by chance? I saw Copper Harbor Trails Club posted a video he made at Ripley and the snow looked deep.... so unhappy to be in Illinois right now.

Neither of us are trail genius but I do help them film. Been a crazy few weeks so I haven't had anytime to edit at all with school, work, and patrolling. But yeah like gibbssco said it was nip deep and the trail genius video does it pretty good justice.

Anyone got a first hand report on Boyne or Nubs area? John Dee is looking 6-8 but NWS is saying 1 or 2...

What's the scoop? And while you're ay it, how's the bc cover?

A friend went out yesterday at an undisclosed location near traverse city, and said it was very good. It's warm though, so all the fresh stuff will settle down. Should be a really solid base for the next storm, but will likely turn into frozen hard pack for this week.

I was at schuss yesterday, and the snow was very good. I'm sure today was spring like. Tomorrow may not soften up as much with no sun. Have fun if you go!

Anyone going to be @ Boyne Mtn. Sat. or the Highlands for the DH on Sunday? Possible dawn patrol stash plundering Sat before opening.

    Holla!

Fuck yeah to Ripley! I spent plenty of time there during my collegiate career (patrolled as well... hell of a college credit). Back when "trestles" was 'out of bounds'

Glad to see you guys getting after it.

Bohemia was pretty good today. Everyday is interesting there and today did not disappoint with one of the yurts catching on fire. Sounds like not too muck damage and no ken hurt but got every fire truck in the Keweenaw out there as well as the news.

BOHEMIA TOMORROW! As weird and shocking as this may be, I have never been there.... If anyone is around tomorrow, say hi. I have a bright yellow Mammut jacket and Blizzard Bodacious skis.

FlatNshallow, I'm still trying to field a full team for the Highlands for Saturday. A few feelers still out there... If I can't get a team together that has a shot at winning, I don't think we're going to make it. Still trying though.

And lastly, it is not even freakin close to spring here yet.... This video is from last Saturday:

"Shit, I'll choke her while she's cleaning, and I'll do it wearing a helmet cam mounted on a full-face helmet.
I'll have meatdrink9 do the lighting for the shot. He'll make it artsy as fuck."

Hey Yoop, you talking about the Coors light series races Sat, right. I don't think I'm running that one but will b3 doing the DH on Sunday. Bring your bodacious too - there'll be fresh. (12+ last 48 & 6 more tonight). Not up to UP standards but so what?

Yup, Coors light. I'll probably be in the Slopeside Lounge at Highlands tonight if you are going to be around. I think I'll skip the DH, though. We might hit up the waterpark with the kids. I hate to say it, but I'm damn near skied out for the season. Ready for a little change of pace.

Bohemia was awesome yesterday, by the way!!

Due to the extended winter weather Chestnut reopened today the 23rd and will be open all week thru next Saturday the 30th from 10-6 pm (9-6 tomorrow). Season passholders can get companion tickets for $20 so if anybody wants to come over tomorrow morning or next Saturday morning send me a pm or just show up and ask a random to help you out. Tickets are $30 otherwise. $3 16 ounce beers at the bar. Tons of snow left and an inch or two of fresh is supposed to be coming in tonight.

It is pretty cool that the nut is doing this. The last time anybody around here was open this late in the season was a long, long time ago. Maybe 20 years?

A couple from last weekend when it was still skiing like midwinter even with the sun blazing on the mostly west facing hill.

Cascade Mountain closed last weekend with plenty of snow left on the hills. I wish they followed the lead of Chestnut, Alpine Valley, and Wilmot regarding re-opening!

Shot it in RAW on my T2i/Canon 10-22. It came out of the camera pretty 'washed out' so in Lightroom I dialed the brightness way back and boosted the black a little and dropped the exposure just a touch. Pretty amazing what you can do in LR if you shoot in RAW.

Just thought I'd post some stuff we were doing in the UP the last good weekend. We got our moneys worth this year eventually, though our buddy blew his ACL to cap it off.
