GB, why don't you tell folks (since you're on the Friends Of CAIC board) what the money from this bash goes to support at the CAIC. I think that would give them a better idea what this is all about.

Absolutely. The money we raise at the Benefit Bash as well as throughout the year is unrestricted money that goes to the CAIC allowing them to be innovative and continue with avalanche forecasting and education throughout the State of Colorado. We work directly with the CAIC on funding issues and what needs to be funded each year. The CAIC is a State funded organization. That being said, there are shortfalls in the State budget. The Friends of CAIC and all of our supporters make up for that shortfall.

Could you get a local lodge to offer some slightly discounted rates or at least kick back something to CAIC?

    I'll be there.

Alaska Heliskiing is giving away a spot for Guide School in February. A mag should snag this - Has ended up a good bit cheaper at the benefit the past 2 years. Huge chunk of cash to CAIC.

Feel free to shoot a pm if anyone is curious/has questions...
    Drive slow, homie.
