Gold medal snowboarder Shaun White was arrested in Nashville Monday after allegedly getting drunk and trashing his hotel room, according to TMZ.

Then, when confronted by hotel staff, the “Flying Tomato” (a nickname he hates) just started pulling fire alarms and running away. In his haste to evade his captors White somehow split his head open, which promptly stopped his well thought out escape.

White was taken to the local hospital and, once treated and released, will be taken to jail and processed on charges of public intoxication and vandalism. Shaun’s reps couldn’t be reached for comment, but we assume his mother is very disappointed.

Cops say ... a concerned citizen tried to stop the 26-year-old from leaving the scene in a taxi ... but White allegedly kicked the person and proceeded to flee on foot.

According to police, the alleged victim says he chased after White ... and collided with the snowboarder .... causing White to fall backwards and slam his head against a fence.

I don't think Martha Stewart is going to have him on the show after this.

I know the report says Nashville Tenn. but that mugshot has West Virginia written all over it.

He discharged a fire extinguisher inside Beaver Run back in 2007 when the Dew Tour was in town. Cops also questioned him about an Audi that was stolen the same weekend.
