Quiet Front Range ride tomorrow morning

I'm in the FR tomorrow and have a few morning hours to ride. I haven't been down there in quite a while so I'm not sure about a location for a couple hour ride without spending my whole time stopping and smiling at other trail users. I would like to stretch my descending legs. Doesn't Apex have alternating closures? is Falcon Park still a quiet spot?

Unless the sun shows its face today the trails will be a mess tomorrow morning along the front range.
It has been raining for the last 12 hours in the fort now!

Yeah, the trails will probably be a bit muddy tomorrow morning... although some like Walker Ranch would be fine given the type of dirt/rock the trail is composed of. If it stops raining this afternoon you should be OK to ride in a handful of places.

I wouldn't worry about trails being crowded on a Thursday morning. It's not as bad as you think.

Apex is alternating based on even / odds but you can still ride on both days, you'll just be forced to go one direction or another.

Falcon is a great ride, only issue will be how muddy it is tomorrow morning. By the amount of rain we've seen so far and it's still coming down here - you're probably looking at a mess.

Chimney Gulch seems to dry really quickly... if the rain does let up this morning/early afternoon it might be rideable. It might also be soup. Apex tomorrow is an odd day, so you wouldn't be able to descend down the gut OR Enchanted Forest. Still a great ride, though.

Once it drys out a bit - if anybody wants to mid-week ride, just drop me a PM - I'm usually doing morrison area to s. boulder area rides after work about twice a week. Weekends I have been doing some fun longer rides w/ smokan and a few other mags.

I haven't combined LOTB and Falcon yet - but looks like a fun linkup.

A midweek will be quiet almost anywhere. Hall Ranch might be a good choice for drying out quickly.

I'm in Niwot (about 10-15 minutes from Hall Ranch) and it stopped about 45 minutes ago. The pavement and my deck are already starting to dry out... I'm planning to ride tomorrow after work, and I'm willing to bet certain trails will be fine in the morning.

If I can get out to grab a new tire and some sealant this afternoon, I'd be up for a midday ride.

It didn't rain that much and trails were parched - rode apex around 330 today: argos-pick&sledge-apex-enchanted forest-down the gut. Things down the gut are only a little bit wet with a few puddles but no appreciable mud. everything else just tacky. Unless it nukes tonight, things tomorrow should be $$$.

If I were riding tomorrow (if I had the time and a functioning finger), I'd be headed to Hall Ranch.

Rode Dedisse-Evergreen Mtn East in 48 mins to summit last night. We hit the cloud layer about 2/3 of the way up EvMtn. at the top it was fairly socked in. There were a couple of puddles in middle of Dedisse and bottom of EvEast, aside from that super tack. And we were the only people out there, eerily empty of people. Damn folks it is 50 degrees and damp what else do you have to do.

Ended up on a road ride. Got scared away by all the mud talk. Lookout to Evergreen down the canyon to Morrison. Nice morning ride for sure.

well, I did a mt bike ride last weekend, finally, so it is healed enough (I'm sure I can hold a ski pole too). But I am a long way from fully healed. I'll never get back full range of motion so I'll never be able to make a real fist -- my boxing career is over -- but the jury is still out on how much ROM I'll get back. May need a second surgery in a few months.
