Say what you will about road biking, but

Hauling mail downhill on an empty road today was about as much fun as I've ever had on a bike. Hit just over 50mph coming down Maroon Creek rd today. Got my first road bike every back in July, been riding it mostly for fitness rides before work. Today I took it out for a 60 mile ass kicker.

Ha, def would have tossed cookies had I had a beer on the way up. Going back down the hill I was on the lookout for anyone I knew for an excuse for a drink.

Mt bike = Jeep. Road bike = Ferrari. I can't imagine not doing both. Way too much fun to be had.

And then to add to the spice, a cross bike, over the weekend while camping I rode a hill climb on my cross bike. It had rained the night before so everything was nice a tacky, 7 miles and 56 minutes to the top on a dirt forest service road, 7 minutes back down. A nice break from 2 days on MTBing.

I like road biking butt, as long as it's attached to a female.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Bikes are fun, period. Road, mountain, cross, snow, even just around town, it's all good. Props for not being afraid of the skinny tires.

Road bikers are gay gapers wrapped in spandex. That is all, 'nuff said.

On a more serious note, if I could only afford one bike I would seriously consider a Cyclocrosser these days, just swapping the wheelsets for road or CX application.

I have a new Tri bike that is faster than shit on pavement. I also have a mountain bike that is faster than shit, in the dirt and mud. And I have a Katana 1100 that is insanely faster than shit. It's all good.

been looking for a 50mph hill around here. Lots of 2-3 miles climbs, but no really long ones you can open it up that much.

One of the biggest adrenaline rushes I know of is to top out a big pass with the peleton in a road race then drop into a long fast descent with forty other guys riding wheel to wheel, pushing the edge of the envelope on every corner. Can really take your mind off all the lactic acid in your legs accumulated on the climb up...

I like both. Road riding is what got me back into riding and into the best shape of my life (and about 40lbs lighter). Lately I've had a lot of fun mountain biking. Yay bikes! If you've got a problem with road bikes and spandex you should probably get over yourself.

It must suck to be so insecure about your heterosexuality that you have to worry that riding a road bike in functional clothing might force you to love teh cock.
Not directed at anyone in particular.

Road bikes are fun and will make you a stronger mountain biker. 50+ on a road bike=fun as shit in a scare yourself kind of way.
I didn't much care for the cock at first, but you get used to it...
