Heli Skiing Bulgaria/Slovenia
Hi Guys ,
I tried to contact some company's and resorts in Bulgaria / Slovenia if there is the possibility to do a Heli skiing trip. I've found 1 in Slovenia and 0 in Bulgaria. Does anyone here know if there are any company's in Bulgaria that are providing this service?
Cheers

No clue, but I would expect demand in these areas would be pretty low, also as the countries are "poorer" than the rest of Europe.....
Would love to hit up the Balkans this winter... What are you planning....?

So yea the eastern Europe.. cheap beer..... hot woman....

There is a Bulgarian maggot who goes by the name of Vihren. He knows everything there is to know about skiing in Bulgaria. You can also try to get in touch with Oxxo (http://www.oxo.bg/schools.php?lang=en). They do guiding in Bansko and would know about heliskiing for sure.
You can also give Romania a try. http://www.lineupexplorers.com/snow/...urope/romania/The beatings will continue until morale will improve.

Indeed. I have been over there a lot and after having seen how stuff gets 'repaired' over there (especially cars) and the driving I would not set foot in a heli registered anywhere in that region. One ski area had the power going off every 5 mins with guys leaving up some container to fix it with passes printed off on an inkjet in someone's bedroom.
This gives you some idea of how things go:

That said, ski gear used to be stuff out of the 80s until about 5 years ago, now new euro race skis seem to be everywhere.

There is no organized heli skiing in Bulgaria to my knowledge. I have heard talks about folks trying to start something, but the dubious economic prospects and, to a smaller degree, the unclear status of such an operation under the regulations of the national parks have not allowed for anything to materialize.
Touring, on the other hand, offers up phenomenal opportunities in terms of terrain and with good snow could make for a very worthwhile trip either in the Pirin and Rila mountains. Lift-accessed side country in the Bansko ski area is also pretty interesting.
I should also mention that while there is no organized cat skiing in Bulgaria, there is a pretty legitimate cat operation in Macedonia called Eskimo Freeride. I have no experience or knowledge of their prices.

Macedonia, Kosovo & Montenegro are great.
Low key, low price, great snow, great terrain.
Had two very enjoyable trips there in 2011.
If you get to Popova Shapka, Macedonia do the cat skiing by the day. It accesses similar terrain to the double chair for considerably more money. But if the lifts are on wind hold, worth every penny.

If you want cheap heli-skiing with somewhat dodgy standards why not head further east to Russia/various stans?

'Superior snowmaking' = clearly a key factor for a heli skiing destination

Heliskiing or no, I'd love to get over that way this season. Much unexplored terrain, everything is cheap, and yes, the women are quite attractive...
