In my opinion the Dakar has a weak rear triangle. Broke one XC riding and trying to get it warranteed has now been 4 months of paperwork that is getting me nowhere. Maybe I got a lemon?!?!?!

^^^ Was it at the chainstay attachment to the yoke? That was a known issue couple years ago. Supposedly they re-engineered it but they have had other problems.
I was in a Jamis shop looking at bikes about 5 years ago and after talking to the owner for a while about the bikes he started bad mouthing them and other shit. I ran out of that store and never went back. You are the mission Bob.

i've never owned one, but i've heard way too many bad things about them. Only way i'd ever get one is if the parts were worth more than the bike, otherwise I'd avoid them like the plague. They really need to change their name/rebrand themselves.
Take everything you like seriously, except yourselves.

Completes used to be great components and essentially a free frame. I just got a warranty replacement for a customer with no issues - 10 day turnaround?
P.S. Jamis Bam 1 Freeride Large for sale! Replaced with a more pedally bike.

The frame cracked on the chain stay (opposite side of the drivetrain, not sure what that's called?). Not on a weld right in the middle of the bar!?!?!. I was wondering why my bike felt all noodley on the trail. I bought a Santa Cruz Blur LT to replace it and that was the right choice. I'm currently stripping the Jamis of it's components and upgrading my hardtail.

I was riding a carbon Jamis hardtail and it roached three wheel in 6 months. Finally Jamis tells the shop to look at the interface between the axle and the frame. There is a crescent shaped piece of metal (yoke?) that was askew and ruining the wheels. We sent the frame to the factory and they ended up giving me a new frame. I plan to put the components on a steel frame (most likely the Surly Ogre) and use it for my in town bike.
Anybody want a 19' carbon fiber HT Jamis Dakar? Never ridden, great price offered!

I have two Jamis bikes. A 2011 Steel Dragon One SS 29er and a 2010 XAMII FS rig. Love em both and haven't had any issues. Just sayin'.
