Black Dimond Carbon megawatt - thoughts, better than old or new, only touring?

    1. Can it handle crud and run over small animals like my blue megawatt?
    2. Love the wood choice (ha ha) - same as ski logik & carbon - sweet
    3. Is it worth replacing my blue ones?
    4. Is it better than teh current heavier version?
    5. HMMM - open to kick arounds since it's like 90 degrees in LA all week
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

20 days skiing in 2009/2010 (15 Powder days)
18 days skiing in 2010/2011 (15 Powder days)
    16 days skiing in 2011/2012 (2 cat days and 11 Powder day's)
    18 days skiing in 2012/2013 (12 powder day's)

    Thanks BCSAR

Hmm, I did not. I will do sidecountry and hike. I think mine are supposed to weigh a pound more, so really not much

how do the carbons compare to the standard? i know the weight is different by i believe about 1lb per ski. do they handle certain conditions differently, or is the carbon model just a lighter traditional megawatt and therefore better?

deciding between the carbon megawatt, megawatt, and k2 darkside all at 188 cm.

looking to put Dukes on them. I dont particularly care about weight, but if the carbon model is everything the traditional megawatt is AND its lighter, I'd go with the carbon. first priority is ski performance. need a beastly hard charging powder ski. I'd like to be able to have a relatively nimble ski as well.

I already have 181 sidestash, and I love them.

just understand the only weight savings in the "carbon megawatt" is by using a very low density, light wood core compared to the regular ski (paulownia).

I would ski it if Black Diamond would progress with the rest of the industry. Their mount points are WAY too traditional. Ten miles of tip with an inch of tail! (end rant)

I did hear it skis a little stiffer and handles speed a tad better than the older model.
