The top 50 films of all time
You may quibble, but this is a great list to refer to. Many are hard to find in digital form. Nice site, too.

It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia.

Yeah, I know. No Caddyshack or Road Warrior, either.

This list is shit. It sounds like garbage a recent film school grad would say. Utter pretentious brain dead crap. It didn't even mention arguably one of the most important films in film making history: "Birth of a Nation". That movie proved audiences would sit through long movies and it brought more "new" technique to filming than probably any film ever has.
There were plenty of classic films on there but a lot of not "great" films. And yes, I went to film school and was forced to watch many of those. And many others I watched were better than some of those. Film critics are idiots.

That is hands down the worst top films list I've ever seen.

Stalker should be at #1 and for sure it should be ahead of Mirror.

Shoot 'Em Up?
Hitman?
Crank 1&2?
The Transporter 1&2?
Smokin' Aces?
No? How 'bout some classics then?
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?
Fist Full of Dollars?
For a Few Dollars More?
The Magnificent Seven?
My Name is Nobody?
The Alamo?
I am dissapointed. So I suppose Hot Rod is out of the question then?

Vertigo at No.1?
I almost stopped reading. Although I'm not really sure what No. 1 should be. Just probably not Vertigo.
The rest of the list does reveal more about the panel than the movies.

Are you fucking serious? Those newer movies you listed shouldn't be on any top anything list.
Besides... The Magnificent Seven is on there, it's called Seven Samurai which is the Japanese movie by Akira Kurosawa it was based on. And it's one of the films I would agree with on that list. I think Ran should have beat Rashomon."Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh, depending on the breaks."

Kung fu Hustle?
I just find the rest entertaining as hell, especially Shoot 'Em Up. I'd still take any one of them over the 50 on the list.Wag more, bark less

Some of the suggested movies here are even worse than the pretentious list.

I was thinking, that, at this point, one of Christopher Nolan's movies should easily be in the list. But, you know, 2001 got panned early - the stoners saved it, in the end.

No Hot Tub Time Machine? Seriously, It bugs me that the list omits a lot of modern classics.
Shawshank Redemption
Gladiator
Blade Runner
Schindlers List
Goodfellas
a few recent ones that IMO deserve consideration
Inception & Inglorious BastardsLicense to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations
