adjusting Forward pressure on PX 15 with boot in place
I'm working on a friend's sitski and because of the design of the 'shoe' I can't completely adjust the forward pressure with the shoe out of the binding.
Two questions-
1) I know it is very bad to adjust some bindings with the boot in place but does the same rule apply to the worm drive heels on PX 15?
2) The binding is going to be mechanically pinned (ie; will not release) so does forward pressure matter anyway?

1) how can you not just dial it up a little at a time with the binding empty, then click in the device and check it?
2) not sure it matters, but too much FP might load the heel cup too much?!?... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...

Is this like for a sit ski? Why not just max out the forward pressure and din?
Since when do you adjust forward pressure with the boot in? I thought even with a worm screw you still have to take the boot out.No longer stuck.

[QUOTE=jfost;37080171) how can you not just dial it up a little at a time with the binding empty, then click in the device and check it?
Short answer is no.
Long answer is that a regular boot has the shelf at the heel the binding presses down on then a vertical wall of plastic up to the boot cuff. A binding with big travel like the PX will ride down the plastic until it meets the shelf then click in. The sitski shoe has the regular heel shelf that the binding pushes down on then a step about an inch higher. When getting close to proper adjustment the long travel binding catches on the step before before it can catch on proper heel shelf. On other bindings with a shorter throw this is not a problem. Sorry I don't have pictures.
To stuckathuntermtn - I also was under the impression you never adjust with the boot in but thought I'd ask anyway. Yes it's for a sit ski.

sounds like you're going to need some "padding" or maybe another binding.
You're saying where the heal of the boot normally is, there's nothing there? Well, that's kinda how trekkers work.
Max out the forward pressure. No longer stuck.
