    Louie Louie

I think this is my favorite version of the best song ever:

but I like this one a lot:

Love the horns, really everything, about this one:

But maybe this is my favorite:

Shit maybe the Kingsmen really did do it best:

It may be the most-covered song ever, whatchagot?

^^^ you gotta admire the drums and tambourine for sticking with it as long as they did.

    Can't forget the Wailers...

The way it went was Richard Berry wrote the song (a clip of his version is a couple posts up^^), then "Rockin'" Robin Roberts found a copy in a discount bin like 4 years later and rearranged it and recorded this version with The Wailers. Then supposedly Roberts went into the Marines and the Kingsmen somehow stole it and recoded the version everybody knows, and then from there everybody else took it.

This version is interesting, a lot going on sonically. Brian Wilson at work.

Speaking of Brian Wilson... Pet Sounds is one of my favorite albums!

Coincidentally, my first ever convert was the beach boys at Otis air force base on the Cape.

haha, yah mon de love machine goes Jamaican! And it's FUNKY.

    Kick out the jams, motherfuckers!

Like one of the comments says, I think they just invented Punk right there in Helsinki.

The Troggs! I've been getting into the Troggs lately, I never really knew them except for a couple songs. Wild band with a very bad attitude. Definitely not a hippy thing at all. Opposite, kinda. Kinda malevolent sometimes.
