I assume you're not talking traditional music, of which there is a shitload.
(well Mick ain't Irish)
And they're as Irish as any of them, just born here...

I should've guessed that you would throw down the gauntlet. Nice stuff in there.

ya, pretty broad but damn fun category.
big fan of these guys, will be playing here at Targhee Bluegrass Fest Sunday, not that i have a clue why they would be considered bluegrass, or good openers for Hot Rize and Del McCoury, but i ain't complaining!...
I was at the show a few hours after this promo was taped in Schwerty's studio
And this band is playing our free Music on Main here in Victor in ten days:
Go ahead and jong or chikflik or otherwise give me shit, but i loved the film Once-
.The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

Well iceman killed it! Great selection! Another band born in the US (St. John's I think...) but has an Irish feel is Great Big Sea. Worth checking out...
Any fans of the Clancy Brothers? How about The Tossers?
I'll see about putting some links up later as here at work we have access to all the goodness that is the Padded Room, however, anything Youtube-ish is strictly off limits!!! Lucky me!
I can't remember...

The Clancy Brothers... Not always the top of my playlist but they're fun to listen to from time to time. Here's a classic:
Finnegan's Wake
Here's a couple from the Tossers. Another American band like Dropkick Murphy's that I think it fits the genre...
Good Morning Da
Whiskey Makes Me Crazy - I love this song!
http://vimeo.com/4315499 (the vid was embedding funny so click the link if I screwed it up.)
And a couple from Great Big Sea. Looks like they're from Newfoundland, not in the US like I had mentioned. (Although St. John's is up north a bit so do I get a Mulligan?) They still have an Irish feel in some of they're music so I'll go ahead and put it up for the hell of it.

I love great big sea. I heard on a radio show once there was a time when the music played in newfoundland was more accurately traditional than some that was played in Ireland, and some irish musicians went there to get it straight.
Ashley McIassac from up there, as well as Natalie McMasters.
This is a bit, well modern...
The vocals on this are amazing, I don't know what the fuck she is saying but she can sing!

I happened upon a free outdoor concert by Great Big Sea in Sydney, Nova Scotia a few years ago. I didn't even know about the concert, I stepped out of my hotel to grab a smoke and followed the music to the concert, which was right down by the water in Sydney harbor. Only saw about the last 45 minutes or so of the show but it was awesome and the crowd was way into it. Excellent band.

This song has some of the best banjo jamming I've ever heard.
...Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain...
"I enjoy skinny skiing, bullfights on acid..." - Lacy Underalls
The problems we face will not be solved by the minds that created them.

Since no one stepped up to the obvious I will provide a few fine examples for one of my very favorites, for tone, presence and authenticity.
Ladies and gentleman, Christy Moore.

Well in Zombie she sings the two lines at once so clearly that i figure everyone can get it. And earlier in the thread it was buried in a whole bunch of other videos that no one watched, so i kinda wanted to showcase it a bit.
ya hear?
