Start Haus Consignment Sale: Labor Day Weekend

Start Haus will be hosting our third annual Ski Swap and Consignment sale over the Labor Day weekend. This sale will give you a chance to unload...err sell that skis, clothing and gear that has been taking up space in the garage. Have your kids outgrown that race suit? Bring it to sell. Are your powder-boards lacking a little rocker? We know plenty of traditionalists who like full camber. Need another pair of skis to add to flesh-out your quiver? I am sure someone will be trimming down their own inventory.

    When is the swap/consignment sale?
    Labor Day Weekend. Fri-Mon

    Where is the swap/consignment sale?
At the Start Haus in Truckee. 10990 Donner Pass Road. 530-582-5781

When can I drop off items?
    From NOW till the sale.

What can I expect to sell (and buy)?
Skis, bindings, poles, ski clothing (outer layers and race suits).

Will there be someone to help me?
While this is a self-serve sale, Start Haus staff will be there to assist, give direction and answer product questions.

Are you accepting old straight skis?
No, but feel free to bring them by and we will dispose of them properly.

    What can't I sell?
Start Haus reserves the right to refuse any clothing/gear, but please do not bring any boots, helmets, base layer, hats, gloves, glasses, goggles or one-piece snow suits from 1974.

    What's my stuff worth?
Start Haus's knowledgeable staff will help you price your items. Just like Antique Roadshow, except with more snow.

    Can I buy new stuff?
Start Haus will have all leftover gear marked to "sell" along with the latest 2013 offerings.

What happens if my stuff doesn't sell?
Anything that doesn't sell will be stored at the Start Haus until October 15th. Any remaining gear will be donated after that date.

Post here or PM me with any questions.

Bump for a solid shop and good peeps.

Thanks for the heads up Phil... I'll definitely bring some stuff by. Maybe I missed it, but what's Start Haus' commission?

Another bump for a good shop and great people. I asked for what I wanted, sent my BSL along, and received a great set of skis at a great price. Rip, roarin' and ready to go.

Actually, two sets of skis at an AMAZING price. Forgot about those GS buggers.

Dropped off 188 Kastle MX88s (Jesters), 195 Stockli Stormrider XLs (912Tis), and 158 Dynastar Exclusive Legends (10-DIN Look). Very jealous of the stuff that Phil set aside for himself, but he was kind enough to set aside a pair of OG Dynastar Chickenheart Slaloms with 747s.

170 race stock slalom??? Try 165.
The skis I got were skinny non-race skis so don't give up hope.
Maybe some Fischer WC SC, they come in 170 and are pretty near race performance.

Where's the list of gear? I don't need anything anymore, but I'm a sucker every once in a while. My buddy needs some stuff.

I've got 165cms for skiing with little guy and for Xmas Midwest night sessions. At 6'2", the more length the better and I know a few companies make 170cms

I'd really be interested in a pair 165ish sl skis, flat ( or could be made flat ie: no integrated binding system) if the price was right.

There probably will be plenty. None will be flat, although some may have plates that were not predrilled and therefore could be redrilled for whatever binding you want. Or you can yank the plate (at least on some, e.g., Rossis) and mount flat.

Don't know how the Lotus 138s made it to the second day, but it apparently was meant to be. Thanks for completing my quiver! Good luck selling the Darksides with the price lowered!
