Camping near Park City?
Headed out for the Wasatch enduro and am looking for an easily accessible camp spot. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!

There may be something closer but the first thing that comes to mind is Wasatch State Park. It would put you about 20 minutes away from the Canyons.
edit: forgot about jordanelle. get in there if you can.Last edited by dfinn; 07-19-2012 at 01:38 PM.

There is a campground on the frontage road by the interstate just down from kimball junction. There is a camp gound at jordanelle (lake) and another on the lower side below the dam. As you come into park city from the Kamas side, there are some dirt roads off to the left. (across from all of the sports fields.) I have seen people camp in there. I also have taken my kids over there for a couple overnighters when I was breaking them into camping. I am not sure they are legal, and certainly you couldn't have a fire. Those are the options I know of. The canyons parking lot is not an option as Talisker has hired a securtiy guard to hassel people there.
Hope you have fun at the event.

Just a head's up that a lot of area campgrounds are filling up or full. Next tuesday is a big holiday here in Utah... Pioneer Day (Pie n' Beer Day, Mormon Mardi Gras, Cinco de Momo, etc.). Therefore a lot of folks are taking Monday off for a four day weekend and camping.
Rockport, Jordanelle, and Echo are all within 30 miles or so, but if you can reserve now I would highly recommend it.
Here's to pinin' it at the enduro!كافر
