Why doesn't the "Edit Title" function in Advanced editing mode doesn't work?
I write a thread....post it...decide I want a better title after the fact.
So I click on 'Edit Thread'.....go to 'Advanced editing mode'....and go up to box where it says "Edit Title". Add my new title and hit "Save".
Refresh the page and find Title hasn't been changed in the least!!! The only place where the new titlle comes up is as a bold-letter "sub header" in the text itself. That's NOT what I consider the "title".
What's up with that?

try it again.
The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

Nope....still the same. I just tried to edit the title of the THIS thread to "Why doesn't the Edit function....." but to no avail. Well, the edited version DOES show up as a sub-heading in the text part of post...just like the titles usually show up there(it's up there now), so we can edit those....but the edited title still doesn't show up on the main forum contents page.
I could have sworn months ago that "Go Advanvced" >"Edit Title" function worked. I almost remember using it successfully. But then again, I 'almost remember' doing a lot of stuff...like I almost remember going out with Miss Alaska and I almost remember catching that 14 pound trout.
No biggie, I'll just more studiously pick my future titles.

You used to not be able to change anything. I changed it so you could edit the title but it still only allowed users to change the subtitle. Never could figure out why I couldn't get it to work correctly.

i think it is working, but only for threads started after the setting was changed. Somebody give it a try?

You fixed it. I tested it for you because admins could always change them without issue.

cool, thanks for the test.
fyi, right now it is set to allow title changes for 24 hours after it's posted. Let us know if that becomes an issue, but seems like for the most part mags will notice mispelings or badly grammar within that time...
edit: you do have to go to 'edit' then 'advanced edit' to do this. The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.

Good catch !!
Tye 1on:
Thanks for fixing it !! I was able to change 'Miles' Kennedy to 'Myles' Kennedy...and if anybody deserves proper spelling of his name, that guy does. Guess my mind was automatically thinking about another "fairly" talented musician.
I think 24 hours is probably plenty!
